It's been reported in large sections of the UK press that Morrissey stayed in the £400 a night Dorchester hotel in London the night after Glastonbury and brought his own bedding. The Sun newspaper even had a picture of morrissey taking his bedding out of a black Mercedes.

MORRISSEY'S HIGH MAINTENANCE
Morose musician Morrissey may stay at London's top hotels when he returns to the English city -- but he brings his own bedding.
The former Smiths frontman arrived in the capital's swish Dorchester Hotel Wednesday and is so fussy, he brings his own sheets and pillows.

A hotel source says, "The hotel costs $720 a night, but Morrissey obviously likes his own comforts."

  • Sorry, not a very insightful comment but doesn't he look good in the Sun photo? I actually read that - I was forced to pinch my mate's paper due to crippling boredom (honestly) and was pleasantly surprised to see something I could be bothered to read! Seems the Sun gossip column can't get enough of good old Mozza... (re: hairbrush spanking incident)

  • i'm sure he's seen those exposes on TV that show that even though hotels wash the bed sheets, they don't do that with the duvets and bed spreads so you find all sorts of nasty things from other people on them.

even if it is $1,000 a night, we know that a lot of people that can afford that can still be just as nasty as some poor slob with no cash.

  • That doesn't even look like he's taking out sheets. It looks like, perhaps, one of those plastic bags you get when you dry clean your clothes.

But whatever, a picture of the mozzer is a picture of the mozzer and I am pleased! :)

.*.* I can smile about it now but at the time it was terrible *.*.
  • This is just a silly thought, and I don't want to be taken too seriously, but what if he wasn't afraid of what he might have found in the bed but of what he could have left in the bed? Imagine the columns...

No seriously, what kind of news is this? The people from The Sun must be tormented in the ninth circle of Hell.

  • Silly story. Makes sense to do that.

Remember the old Beatles story when they stayed at the Waldorf and someone at the hotel cut the bedsheets and sold them. Avoids that situation completely.

Imagine cutting those sheets with Mozzer still in them! Whoh!

  • I don't blame him. I agree, it doesn't matter if the hotel is $1000 a night. Money doesn't make a people clean by any means.

I always take my own pillow and bedding whenever I am away from home. But then, I never pay more than $120 a night. Which limits me to, like, The Holiday Inn.

  • Maybe he saw that piece on 20/20 a while back when they brought a special ultraviolet light into various hotel rooms, revealing lovely little treats like semen, feces and urine on not only the bed linen, but also on the walls and curtains.
