I don't see this happening at all. I think this is just a poor attempt at giving some publicity to the band by some fan.

  • It is not that I, as a Mexican, don´t feel proud about Jaguares´ success outside our country, they have been great.

But Morrissey shouldn´t open for them, I mean, their music is not that compatible, besides, who should be opening for who?

Well inside camp Jaguares, I heard Saul (lead singer) saying he didn´t like Morrissey (1992).

I know it is now familiar to see Mexican flags and yells of "Me-xi-co! Me-xi-co!" at Moz´s shows.

There are a fes bands in México that could play alongside with Moz, but Jaguares certainly is not one of them. I mean, they´re not as awful as (even bigger) Maná. But the only thing in common shared by Jaguares and Moz is their admiration for David Bowie.

  • Jaguares is a very good Spanish-Rock band that has been around for a very long time, *note* their success is very huge due to their loyal fans and devotes that are, to some fanatic degree, the same to Morrissey devotes.

More than anything, I do think that Morrissey and Saul do share some things in common, their passion for compassion. Morrissey has written witty and comical lyrics about the royal family, and Saul continues to embrace humanity and support the indigenous people of Mexico.

However, I can’t imagine this event happening. Like someone said…. who would open up for who?! Even if it did happen, tickets would be hard to find. Yes, jaguares does sell out most of their shows in the Los Angeles area.

  • You've got to be f*cken kidding! What a disgraceful idea. That band is the Mexican equivalant of the Cure for England. Their fans here in the States rank amongst the biggest posers and wannabees. They follow the leader of course, in this case the bands they adore. Jaguares is got to be by far one of the most over-rated bands in the world. Why could no one think of Morrissey playing in the company of another group of more respectable and worthy people? It would be great to think of the possibility of Moz playing in the same venue with maybe Cafe Tacuba (as Beck has done) or with someone who shares many things in common with Moz himself, Mr. Gustavo Cerati. The latter would be the most perfect of combinations ever assembled.

  • Before I get my shot gun and start blasting on all the nerdos here who yap and yap let me just say: I love Moz' music but he would have to open for Jaguares (if this was to be true.) Geographically speaking both bands have huge fans in LA that would mind paying whatever price. Also dont mock a certain band for the fact that u dont know or understand the music. Jaguares has worked with gutarrist Andrwew Belew which has played with Bowie. Also they have worked with producer Don Was. Jaguares music is distinct and somewhat more superior to Morrissey's band. If moz and jaguares were to release an album at the same time worlwide, Jaguares will defenetly sell more. Moz music is still great. Now what.
