Electronic Finally Sees U.S. Release Date For Twisted Tenderness
July 24, 2000, 12:40 pm PT

Nearly a year and a half after its release in the U.K., Electronic has finally lined up a Stateside release for its third album, Twisted Tenderness, on Sept. 12 on Koch Records.

Electronic, consisting of New Order singer Bernard Sumner and ex-Smiths/current Healer guitarist/vocalist Johnny Marr, previously saw its first two albums (1991's Electronic and 1996's Raise the Pressure) released on Warner Brothers.

Meanwhile, Marr's latest project, the Healers, recently finished up their first string of live shows (allstar, July 17) in the U.K. and are currently in negotiations with an American label to release the band's debut, tentatively titled Play Dumb (allstar, Jan. 26). Sumner is still holed up with a recently reformed New Order, writing and recording songs for the band's follow-up to 1993's Republic.

  • the american music industry is a disgrace for allowing the music of such great musicians to be left almost unheard by the people who live here. i bought the album about six months ago but i had to pay way too much 'cause it was an import.
even though i am one angry music fan i have faith that some day, hopefully sooner than later, things will eventually change. fans of great music of the world should unite to take over.

  • ...honestly, you have to admit...it's not really very good AT ALL.

I think "Vivid" is the only half-way decent thing I can barely remember from it.

  • Along the lines with the fellow that stated that great musicians are not being heard over here in the states. I would 100% have to agree with that. Furthermore goes with my exact reasoning.

WHY IN HELL IS THE DANDY WARHOLS NOT A HOUSE HOLD NAME TO AMERICA. "13 TALES OF BOHEMIA" IS...OKAY I'LL SAY IT, THE BEST ALBUM IN THE AGES. So go buy the damn thing and request the music you want to hear on your local radio stations or other outlets.

Why must i waste my energy on the poor state of music in America. When will MTV learn...

ps...their americans. America please treat your talent kindly
