Comedian Chris Gethard wrote in his blog about meeting Morrissey backstage on the Jimmy Fallon show. He posted pictures of Morrissey signing his arm and the immediate (and extremely necessary) tattoo. I was already a fan, but this makes me an even bigger fan of Chris Gethard now.

  • It seems a bit ironic, that people invested enough in Morrissey to post comments on a fan site within minutes of an article appearing would also want to meet Morrissey, so why the bashing? The story is actually sincere and cool.

  • I thought Morrissey had so many lyrics about being angry at a closed minded and unaccepting world. Strange that his fans seem to display so many of those comments. Regardless of your views on tattoos, to judge this kid's personal appearance, call him a twat and a moron, all seems to really cross lines he shouldn't have to put up with. If I signed on here and read all this, I'd be depressed - it's not like he asked for anyone to spread around the story of his tat, it just went viral on its own and now he has to take it on the chin? Even from other Moz fans? Grow up.

  • People take tattoos too seriously. I have a friend who had a basketball tattooed on her arm just to make her little cousin laugh. That's what it's about people! Tattoos are there to make the person who got them happy and this is a perfect example. The fact that this makes him happy is pretty friggin' endearing.
