~Great Songs ~08:14 PM
I am not a musician nor a songwriter. But, I am a lover of melody and story telling. I am also very fond of bass and electronic rhythms. There are songs that get put into the all time 'greats' categories every year. My faves sometimes make those lists. However, most often they don't. So what makes a song GREAT to me? First, it must stand the test of time or be timeless. Second, it has to be able to make me want to move -- whether this is dancing like a maniac, or simply swaying in my chair. Third, it must make me feel something emotionally -- simply by its melody or the 'voice' as an instrument. So here is my list from the earliest to the latest: The Boxer ~ Simon and Garfunkel I wonder if my list will be different in ten years? Will there be additions? Deletions?
