I'm not the man you think I am...I am a poor freezingly cold soul...I have just discovered that prudence never pays. Now, we must wait for the right time

(Happy) New Year

10:40 AM

I wish David would provide an "Ignore" button on these journals...

So, 2003, eh? It seems really different, doesn't it? Well, no, not really. I think I mentioned this last year as well - it just so happens to be another day. There's 365 of them in a year (and, if you're unlucky, 366), and the chances are you'll experience a better day throughout the year than New Year's Day, or New Year's Eve for that matter.

Anyway, how did YOU spend the time as it ticked onto the next "important" day? Well, I was at home, drinking beer. Then, when the bells had gone and midnight had struck Greenwich Mean Time, I retreated to my room, and played my PlayStation 2. Shortly after that, having spoken to my relatives in Florida, I went to sleep.

Yes, it was truly thrilling, I have to say. The only thing the turn of the year is EVER good for is the numerous end-of-year reviews, such as that of BWTT. I guess it's only as good as you make it, but I still maintain that if I had gone out, then I'd still have had the same amount of enjoyment. Probably less, actually, as taxi firms and pubs/clubs take advantage of this "occasion" to hike their prices up. I truly am a miser.

So, what does 2003 hold in store for JacquesTheLad? All being well, I should see out my first year at university with good grades, hopefully venture to several places to experience different ways of life (I'm thinking maybe a trip to North America, a trip to mainland Europe, and possibly a few nights in England). Hopefully, I'll remain very strong-minded, I'll still have a journal to write in, and things stay just the way they are. Oh, and a new Morrissey album wouldn't go amiss either. And another tour date.

Hope the next 365 days are good for all of you.
