I'm not the man you think I am...I am a poor freezingly cold soul...I have just discovered that prudence never pays. Now, we must wait for the right time

Just a small excerpt from my latest e-mail to handinglove, which I thought I would like to share with you. Sorry for any distress caused.

Yes, I think the coverage all the September 11 events have been receiving, all over the world (even in Spain), has been a bit much. Why not just let them live in peace? I mean ok, a small article on the news or something to commemorate the atrocity, but jees! It's all over the news. It's a bit much for me. This may sound a bit sadistic, but I can't see the same coverage being given if, say, a big building in China or something collapsed, killing thousands. Basically, what I'm saying is ok, it was a tragedy and yes, many nationalities lost their lives that day. But the fact it was in America, where nothing is supposed to go wrong, gives it an added specialness than if it were in some non-English-speaking country.

Having said that, I'm a bit sick of Bush and the whole American and British governments at the moment. Why are they insisting on bombing Iraq? Are they doing anything bad to us? Basically, Bush is a bit too gun-ho for my liking. And Tony Blair isn't much of a leader, he's virtually Dubya's lapdog. So much for peace in the world. I think they're more after Saddam's oil than they are after Saddam. OK, Hussain is an absolute tosser, but he's not really doing us THAT much harm...Having said that, I still think they should have finished him off first time round, when they had the chance.
