I'm not the man you think I am...I am a poor freezingly cold soul...I have just discovered that prudence never pays. Now, we must wait for the right time

Is it wrong to want to live on your own?

01:01 PM

Now, with it being 11/9, I could be all emotional and write a journal entry about the terrible atrocities that occurred a year ago today. However, I doubt I could come up with any new words, or words that people hadn't already used anyway, so I won't bother with that. All I can give is my condolences to anybody deeply affected by the tragedy.

Onto my entry title now. A question to all people out there: Is it wrong to want to live on your own? I've been in a very odd mindset since being at Spain. It begun when I was over there, staying with my friend's aunt, who stays in Spain in a house on her own (well, not including Digger the dog, naturally).

I was thinking about my future life. Sure, I'm only 17, and it's perhaps a bit premature to be looking into the future, considering we don't even know what the next day will bring. But I had a long, deep think at where I want to be in the next ten years. And, much to my delight, it does appeal to me. Surprisingly so.

Naturally, I shall live on my own. Having only my mother and grandmother as family (no sisters, brothers, father, or real aunts/uncles/cousins), I'm pretty much on my own anyway, so, when I'm older, living on my own won't be such a surprise. But the house shall be big. And have all the latest technology. I will drive a FAST car. Something MR2-ish.

The house will be in North America, either in the United States or in Canada. If in Canada, it will have to be Toronto. If the States, well, any of the major cities. Possibly down in Florida, though. I will be an accountant, working for a large, multinational company.

I won't be married, nor have a long-term girlfriend. Girls may come and go, but I wouldn't bank on it. However, we shall party quite frequently. Possibly throw some house parties as well, but with only the creme-de-la-creme invited. No commoners. And, rather than having pieces of art gracing the walls, I shall have LARGE posters of my idols: probably Jacques and Morrissey, amongst others.

Everything will be perfect, apart from the relationship situation. I might make some enemies - probably more enemies than friends - and may die before I turn 40.

Sounds exciting, does it not?

  • i being of only 16 also contemplate my future often (probably more than is healthy). i see myself in a high-rise condo. with my best friend amanda, which for me is better than being alone. as for north america, go with canada.

it is also nice to know there are those younger mozz fans about, at the concert i recently attended i felt like a child compared to the general audience.

to die by your side, the pleasure, the privilege is mine
  • you're charming. Some girl will snatch you up. I hope so anyway. I always wonder if I'll end up alone. Maybe, but I hope not. What's wrong with living on your own? If you're not comfortable with yourself you'll never be comfortable with anyone else!
