I'm not the man you think I am...I am a poor freezingly cold soul...I have just discovered that prudence never pays. Now, we must wait for the right time

I make loving fun

05:24 PM

So, a Morrissey concert within walking distance (if I left the now) of me, and I'm not attending. Despite people (OK, person) sending me messages informing me of the opportunity to buy tickets, it's simply infeasible. It's a great shame for all concerned, not least of all because Morrissey forgoes another opportunity of meeting me. Chances like this don't come along too often, sir. You really should be more careful in future.

Unwanted attentions from a female have blighted my weekend (how the tables turn!). Some buffoon once said "beggars can't be choosers", but in my instance I am not a beggar nor, indeed, a chooser. I prefer to be an island, distanced from society and focusing on the important things in life. Namely alcohol. I think I'm reaching near-alcoholic status, as I haven't had a dry weekend in 2004. Whilst I couldn't hope (nor would I wish) to match the exploits of some more illustrious journalists, this pattern of events has to stop. With a concert next week, and indeed a night out the week after (along with the Kraftwerk concert midweek), it is worrying. Where will it end?

I have sacrificed chocolate for Lent, my third consecutive year in doing so. I have to say it's extremely difficult, considering my consumption of said substance throughout the year. Filling the void are crisps and anything with sugar in it. Substitutes, if you will. I also bought "Take Me Out" today, as exclusively revealed in my last entry, and the B-sides give for some good guitar-playing as well.

My project has not progressed at all, and panic will undoubtedly set in at the end of the week if I don't have a radical improvement. I intend on staying in university for full-time hours this week. Whether this goes according to plan or not is open to much debate, and indeed I would not stake a fake Morrissey ticket on me sticking to it. But hopefully the good intentions will be realised, and the project will get ahead of steam this week.

I'm glad to see my backing for Mr_Biffo's group went down a right treat - a whole two new members since my advertisement. I don't even know if those who joined even visited the site as a consequence of my journal. I'd hazard a guess at "not", but who knows, I may be wrong. For now, though, I suppose I should get on with "life".

P.S. - I completed "Bounce", hurrah! Although I was rather disappointed there was only eleven levels. Maybe "Bounce 2" will have more challenge.

P.P.S. - There's definitely a sound of the Happy Mondays to the Franz Ferdinand single. A "Wrote For Luck" instrumental, perhaps.

P.P.P.S. - There isn't one.

  • I gave up sweet things too,Jacques.
But I forgot and at the Friday morning meeting in work I had a cream slice.
Since I didn't intend to have it,does it count?
Sorry you won't be at the Morrissey gig,but there are more important things.Just.

    Regards
