I'm not the man you think I am...I am a poor freezingly cold soul...I have just discovered that prudence never pays. Now, we must wait for the right time

The waiting continues

02:41 PM
I got the job - start on Thursday, he said. However, a couple of things I find quite awry with this job:

* They're asking (asking? make that telling me) to work 22 hours per week - Thursday 5pm-8pm, Friday 5pm-8pm, Saturday 9am-6pm and Sunday 10am-5pm), and I'm still at school! You kidding me?

* They're paying me a measly £2.76 per hour (for the Americans amongst us, I think that's a smidgen over $4), which equates to me working my fingers to the bone for £60 per week.

* The manager looked like a right tool. He was trying to act nice at the interview - you can just tell these things, can't you? - but you get the feeling that if I wasn't working to his high standards (for £2.76 per hour, who can blame me?) he'd shout and get rather angry.

I'm gonna phone him in the morning before I go to school and tell him that I've decided the hours are too long and I'd like to turn down the job. Either that or I'll tell him to stick it up his arse. Either way, it'll work good I hope.

Visiting the elderly tomorrow. It's the one time per week that I think that there's people worse off than me, because they're cooped up in that home all day almost every day, nobody to talk to, they're just old and nothing to look forward to...it's a tragic shame.

The girls are dominating the yearbook! What is this all about? They're just so possessive it's unreal...I was going to join the yearbook committee, but I've decided it's more trouble than it's worth - everybody will be arguing, it's inevitably going to end in tears...
