In a letter to Robert Mackie (circa 1980/81 - as collated in "Words By Morrissey"), Morrissey stated:

"The Polecats have just been on duh box destroying "John, I'm Only Miming." Now if they REALLY had any imagination, they'd shoot themselves."

Boz Boorer has consistently toured with The Polecats and remains a member of the band - a substitute guitarist is used when he is unable to attend.
