Still Ill

I found out a little while ago that I am anemic. My new psychiatrist told me when last I saw him. That totally explained the exhaustion I have been feeling. Since then, I have had more lab work done. I have an illness that effects my stomach. My regular doctor still wants more tests done because of the anemia. This year has been a bit difficult for me. I `ve been ill most of the year and my family has had some difficult times. But I did have some good things happen. A year after by beloved dog died, I adopted two little Chihuahuas that my cousin gave to me. My family and I also took a trip to our favorite place to vacation Disneyland. I had a really nice time. I also have something awesome to look forward to. My little sister and my niece and I are going to see Morrissey soon. I am so excited and happy for that. :guitar::guitar:

I’m so sorry things have been difficult, Tibby. I hope you get more testing and there is something they can do to help you feel better. I was so happy to read your post the other day about the show and that you got to go see Morrissey - there’s nothing like it. A healing experience all on its own! ❤️

Thanks, HIG. I've had some more tests done. With the illness that I have that effects my stomach I have to stop eating and drinking certain foods. I already don`t eat meat but I have to cut out a lot of the things I love like Diet Coke lol. But I really have to organize myself and start a new diet. My doctor said she would like to send me to a nutritionist. I really can`t have the things that exacerbate my stomach condition. They still don`t know why I`ve developed anemia yet. I usually love the holidays but I`m just feeling so tired and I have to take things day by day. Thank you for comments and yes, I totally agree seeing Morrissey gave me something to look forward to and it was wonderful to see him again. I hope you have a great holiday HIG!!!! :) :)

if you have an illness that affects your stomach then you're probably not absorbing iron from food, hence the anemia. you can take an iron supplement but from my own experience those are incredibly hard on the body. if you can get the iron injection instead, i would definitely go for that. thats what i would be doing (not anemic but cant store iron, which causes all sorts of other issues), but it's not available in canada, apparently.

something that will get your iron up right away is something called yellow dock, which you can get at the health food store and which you take sublingually for a couple of weeks. it works by releasing iron from the liver and they give it to pregnant women to get their iron up quickly. that might help make you feel better while waiting for tests.

Thank you for your advice rifke. I am currently taking iron supplements but like you said they can be a bit difficult to tolerate. I will definitely look into the yellow dock. Thanks again for the advice.
