In Response To: SOMETHING IS TROUBLING - SO READ THIS (CARY)

I'm 27 and first heard the Smiths in September of 87 and have been a faithful follower ever since. Bought all the records/boots/vids/posters/shirts and any other trinket he happens to come up with. $7 for a firdge magnet sure I bought one. I do agree with most of your comments such as lyrcs and set lists. I love MALADJUTED a lot, but it's no Vauxhall or Arsenal and it's still a strong release. I honestly like Southpaw the best. WHY?!?! you ask? Because it doesn't sound like Morrissey at all. It's just straight forward bitter ROCK AND ROLL at it's best. Simple lyrics and 3 chord music make it an incredible departure from his Smiths-esque jangle music.

As far as his shows, YES HE NEEDS TO MIX IT UP! But I like you are one of those that will go to as many shows as my wallet can afford(without asking for Morrissey fans for donations so I can go to shows...ummmhmmMorrisseyTour.com gals) and just be happy that he hasn't packed it in yet. When he decides to do that, that's when Rock is really dead. I'm glad he's playing Boxers and I can have both. Those are fantastic songs, and i've never seen them live, except on video. But, I can do without Last night I dreamt, for some reason, that song just doesn't come off well live and I don't know why. Maybe LA and Irvine will be soemthing special who knows but lets just be glad he's comming home. By the way, your post was refreshing, it was a very well written complaint!
