are you ready for a night of depressing folk songs?

Having been an immense supporter of his music and have followed his career since 85' this was, at last, my first show. Such fullfillment. Many times feeling just in awe of his earnest and energetic performance. Had the chance to catch him a few years back in Arizona, but the venue was awful and i supposed that that might have had a bearing on the performance, so i skipped it. Last night was far too overdue and the experience will stay with me for a long time. He seemed very "into it" and joked alot with the crowd. Such a surprise to hear 'Is It Really So Strange', a rocking 'Meat Is Murder','Half A Person' and 'Last Night I Dreamt...' along with some of my favorite solo works 'Tomorrow' and 'Break Up The Family'. People almost fought to the death over his tossed t-shirts and i was in the balcony to the left side, closest to the stage and had i just been three rows up,i would have scored one too.
I could feel how much excitement/energy/anticipation there was from the crowd to see him and he gave back what he got. Went with a few friends who had seen him before and I was completely prepared to see either a short set or a less than average performance. Thankfully, he exceeded my expectations and I left with a smile on my face and even more endearment for the man than before. 'now my heart is full'.....
