This is true. It's standard procedure to play to the local crowd. So while in Hamilton, he makes jokes about London, Ontario. While in the Southwest, he makes Mexican references.

> "Bengali in Platforms" - Life is hard enough when you

The song is hardly a political piece. It's a farce about an immigrant wearing ridiculous clothes in an attempt to be more "English."

> "Asian Rut" - Poor Asian boy, can't fight those
> English boys!
--------
The Asian boy is the HERO of the song. The English boys are coawrdly villains - "Oh, English boys, it must be wrong - three against one?"

> "Our Frank" - see the video, look at all those
> skinheads!
-----------
"Skinhead" does not mean "racist" or "fascist." Walk up to the next skinhead you see and call him one of these names. See what happens.

> "National Front Disco" - England for the English?
> America for the Americans?
-------------
"NFD" is a song about the process by which a boy becomes attracted to right wing movements. The words "England for the English" are spoken by the narrator answering a friend who says "we've lost our boy" - "but they should know where you've gone because again and again you've explained that you're going to "England for the English." If merely saying the words makes one a believer in them, then you and I are fascists for having typed them. It's a crazy charge.

> "Panic" - when Morrissey complained too many black
> artists made top of the pops
-----------
"Panic" was actually written about the pointlessness of pop music when compared to the gravity of the real world. Music which says nothing about life as its lived should be ignored. And Morrissey is actually a fan of black music. He isn't a fan of Whitmey Houston or Janet Jackson, but who in their right mind is?
