Alright, I don't typically do this, but here goes....

First, that was one of the most pathetic crowds I've ever had the misfortune of sharing company with. Everyone seemed to get progressively more bored through the course of the show. The majority seemed most animated when he removed his shirt(?!). And, naturally, all went wild for the Smiths' tunes and didn't utter a peep at the intro of most solo ones. I may get slammed for this, but why the hell would you go to a show solely to see the stuff that was composed ten years ago, fully aware that most of what will be performed is more recent?! Now, I love a Smiths' tune just as much as the next person, but it was a MORRISSEY concert, not a f!@#ing Beatles reunion. I can't fathom why he goes on when a crowd like that makes it utterly clear that they couldn't give a rat's a-- about anything he does anymore. It was clear to me when my husband and I were two of maybe five fans that yelled at the intro of "Lost" and "The Teachers...". The seating arrangement is a lame excuse, too. I danced my a-- off. A girl in front of me was going nuts, no problems. I had a clear view and didn't have to concern myself with flying feet and sh-- like that.

As for the performance, Moz and the band were butt-kickin'. The boys are a great live band...they made "Meat Is Murder" rock-I need not say more. The vocals did seem just a tad low...or perhaps they were just drowned out by the flippin' choir of goofy girls to my rear screaming the words to every song (pre-Vauxhall era, that is). You may not like the Southpaw album, but you've got to admit that it kicks a-- live. We saw him in Japan couple of years ago, and he played a much longer set last night. Kind of disappointed that the comments were pretty much scripted (with the exception of that Marr=E.T. thing!)....but really can't complain, it was an absolutely awesome experience. Was desperately hoping to hear "Shoplifters", though. And yes, Moz does look older, but has aged well....happens to the best of us - saw plenty of bald-spotted heads in the crowd.

By the way, what was with the Mexican flag?! Was that given to him by a fan?
