Very Sweet Indeed

We arrived at about 1.45 in the afternoon, at about the same time as some 4-5 old friends arrived, the same lads who were there in 1991 + a Scottish bloke. when a bus arrived some time later, some rather rude security people warned us to stay away, i just managed to see Alain wave at us, and i saw Gary. Morrissey arrived at about 3 in a big Audi. we didn't see him then, the car circled the venue and by the time we arrived at the back he'd gone in. some time later we saw him walk from the venue to the tour bus, and from a little distance he waved at us. half an hour later he'd had his tea and came out of the bus, and walked straight to us, 20 people or something like that, and took quite some time to shake hands, give autographs and talk to us. he was very very sweet. he looked with interest at a book about him that some french boys wanted him to autograph, he thought the tickets (with the boxer photograph) were beautiful, he didn't like the venue, and said that Alain was fine. he was brilliant, very much at ease, and looked very good - which he denied. by 4 in the afternoon he'd already made our days.
and the best was yet to come - i've managed to see about 15 Morrissey gigs by now, and this definitely was one of the very best. he really was ready for it and gave a brilliant performance, as did the band.
them lads know how to rock.
i think the new drummer boy looked a bit Mike Joyce-ish, to be honest.
