Your top ten songs: The 70s

Home alone and having put the kid to bed, I've been passing the time using my general favorites spotify list to create a top ten songs playlist by decade. Actually rather fun to see what you end up with when forced to pare it down to ten songs. I thought maybe that could be a point of departure for an entertaining thread, or rather, for a number of threads. Just one rule: Only one song per artist/band.

Well anyway, here's mine, in no particular order;

Wire: A touching display
Kate Bush: Breathing
Kate & Anne McGarrigle: Complainte Pour Ste Catherine
Roxy Music: Editions of You
The Stranglers: Golden Brown
Gang of Four: Love like Anthrax
Carpenters: Rainy Days and Mondays
The Stooges;: Search and Destroy
David Bowie; Subterraneans
Marvin Gaye; What's Going on
