No, there are exactly 50 I feel exactly the same about, but the exactness fluctuates depending on my mood at that exact moment.
But I don’t fluctuate much about this 10. Very much amongst my least favourite.

Papa Jack
He Cried
Lover-To-Be
The Kid’s A Looker
You Know I Couldn’t Last
I Am Not a Man
I Am Not a Dog on a Chain
I Am Two People
I Bury the Living
Sorrow Will Come in the End

Lover-To-Be
People Are the Same Everywhere
Action is My Middle Name
You Know I Couldn’t Last
I Am Not a Man
This Song Doesn’t End When It’s Over
Sorrow Will Come in the End
That’s another type of list we need dive into. These are mine:
World Peace…

Kick the Bride…

Neal Cassady…

Kiss Me…

The Girl From…

Who Will Protect…

Israel

…Ruth

I Am Not a Dog…

Bobby…

The fact that all of these songs are from his latest albums makes me very sad.

My ten favourite solo songs, in no particular order:

A Swallow on My Neck
I've Changed My Plea to Guilty
Drag the River
The Loop
Used to Be a Sweet Boy
Speedway
Jim Jim Falls
Trouble Loves Me
Life Is a Pigsty
Come Back to Camden

The Jim Jim Falls love is making me very happy. And Drag the River is an unheralded (apart from this forum) deep cut that should definitely have made it onto the album.

I like about 6 out of the 10 here 😬.
Oh well, different strokes...

Agree with a lot of those. The distorted guitar tone on Neal Cassady is among the most annoying sounds he's ever put on an album.

  • Action is my Middle Name
  • To Me You are a Work of Art
  • Come Back to Camden
  • Now My Heart is Full
  • I Have Forgiven Jesus
  • I’m Throwing my Arms around Paris
  • Spent the Day in Bed
  • Dear God Please Help Me
  • Kiss Me a Lot
  • The More you Ignore Me

It might be interesting to pick a top 10 by era... as in 1.) 1988-1998 2.) 1999-2009 3.) 2010-2022. Just thinking on this, it would take much thought and deliberation for the first era, less so for the 2nd era. Do I even have a top 10 for 2010-2022? Hmmm, I would have to go through the steps to find out.

Not to mention the awful nonsensical lyrics!

LOL at all you edgelords who rate shit like Kiss Me a Lot higher than Everyday Is Like Sunday :lbf:

Right?! I mean what the f***? Who are you kidding?

In no particular order:

Now My Heart Is Full
Speedway
Everyday Is Like Sunday
Maladjusted
Once I Saw the River Clean
It's Not Your Birthday Anymore
Lost
First of the Gang to Die
I Have Forgiven Jesus
Israel

Everyday and Gang are nowadays too familiar for me to really love anymore, but excluding them just because of that doesn't feel right.

How many top tens does each person get to choose?

How many top tens does each person get to choose?

I don't know, I was just following someone else's lead. I suppose it's possible that by "other top ten," they meant Morrissey's ten worst songs, but given how many excellent songs were on their other top ten list, that can't be what they meant (unless they're truly perverse).

For the record, my other top ten is the second half of my Morrissey Top 20.
