I found one today and it had only a plain black inner sleeve (not the Charles Richardson). Were some released like this? I've heard of man more being this way.

It's the normal original
One just like it sold for a lot the other day on ebay
They even mentioned the "black inner sleeve"

mine has this innersleeve.....same picture on both sides;

The simply Vinyl re-issue that I have has the 12"X12" Richardson picture on glossy paper with nothing on the other side. The record sleeve is plain white.

It is possible that what you have is not the UK pressing. Vinyl pressings from other countries are all cheaper packaged. And also you always have people who lose the inner sleeve or distractedly swap it with the one from another LP.
