Someone posted a a video of the Young@Heart Chorus (an over-70s choir from Massachusetts) doing Sing Your Life a while back in Manchester. Here's a different performance probably from around the same time.
Suggests how popular some Morrissey songs could be if radio stations weren't put off by his voice/persona.

FFS, why - WHY???? - are you so relentlessly obsessed with how popular Morrissey is, how many records he sells, his chart placings and how much media exposure he gets (or fails to get)?

Listen: he's almost 60 years old; his commercial viability is exhausted and his chance to be in the limelight has come and gone. The kids aren't going to start plastering pictures of Morrissey on their walls if only he would work with Stephen Street again and put out a three-minute, jangly pop-song that Radio 2 will play in the daytime.

It's 2016 and just about nobody gives a flying f*** about music, let alone Morrissey, anymore.

Morrissey is never going to be Top of the Pops (look at him - he's almost dead) so just move on and get f***ing used to it.
