Worst cover of a song

How about just about everything by Paul Young. Add to that the entire works of Joe Cocker and 75% Van Morrison's work.

And I have to disagree here, I'm afraid. Ryan Adam's version is - in my opinion, anyways - far superior than Oasis' version. His voice just draws out much more emotion than Liam does, and it makes the song much more moving.

Yeh Ryan Adams version is incredible, death do you like the original?

I remember the Magic Numbers cover of There is a light being pretty underwhelming.

Have I told you lately...?

Rod bloody Stewart massacred a great Van Morrisson tune.

I think the original is OK. As a "terrace anthem", it does what it does and does it well. But Ryan Adams just brings much more raw emotion to it than Liam ever could.

^ I have no favourite cover of that song! Really!

What about Alien Ant Farm's rendition of "Smooth Criminal"? Not saying I like the original but that cover and that band... well, just be glad if you have no idea what I'm talking about!

Anyone heard "This Charming Man" by Death Cab For Cutie? I like the band, but what they did with that song...aweful!
