Why Morrissey will never come back to Canada:

I heard IBEH on the radio for the first time today!

After, the radio host lamented about the last time Morrissey was in Toronto. Apparently some of the more hardcore fans were climbing on stage and giving him flowers. Security freaked and started tossing people out onto the street.......and one of these people being our dear Moz. He didn't go back on stage.

But then, if i was tossed from my own concert, i'd probably ditch too.

he will boycott canada, as he should, clubbing dem lubbly seals to death
with spikes, i like your lakes, but you speak french so you are on my list

Because they dont have any good hockey teams in canada....he only wants to go to cities where they actually can win a stanley cup...like detroit......

So his North American tour will consist of 36 nights in Detroit then?

Yep...whats wrong with that??????

Do you Yanks seriously think all Canadians speak French?? Why is that? I don't get it. The french speaking part is mainly in Quebec. Yes, our products are bilingual but that doesn't mean we all speak the f***ing language!
I could tell you about 10 different French words and that's about it. Nobody I know can speak French either.

Did they say what venue it was at? Was this early on in his solo career? I saw him at Kingswood Theatre and Maple Leaf Gardens and I don't remember anything like that happening.

yes, and club defenceless seals to death, for fun

>Why is that?

you tell me babe

morrissey will never come to your country, and i think you know that
now, maybe stop buying the seal burgers? eh?

He was thrown out during the first show of the Maladjusted tour here in Toronto in 1997. It was during the encore of "Satan...". He came out with a purple shirt so I don't think the thick headed security guards recognized him & I swore I heard Moz say "f***!" as the mic dropped to the floor.

Needless to say Moz did return to Canada in 2000. The whole country is not responsible for a few daft security gaurds but we are partly responsible for the money sitting in Moz's bank account. He'll be back.

That's right...

I was there, too (Massey Hall, '97). Nobody could believe Moz himself was hauled offstage, most of all the man himself. He was pissed, but his expression was priceless. Would've made a great Linder photo.

The 2000 show in Hamilton was decent, but more cabaret than high energy, but he was chatty. I don't think he has any grudge against Canada at all...

Do you seriously expect me to believe all Canadians do not speak French ?
I suppose they do not make soup out of maple leaves either ?

Next you'll be telling me Scotsmen don't roam the Highlands dressed in kilts with their faces painted blue !

You should be ashamed of yourself T

Re: Another reason why his PIMPship will never play canada again????

They dont have yoshinoya there....you must have the Yoshinoya!!!!!!!! No yo, NO SHOW!!!! Simple as that. if you were to build one double quick,I think I could coerce him to do a few shows there, you got to get the Yoshinoya as close to the venue as possible, thats the only thing. I dont make the rules,I just follow with what morrissey wishes. he demands the Yoshinoya on this tour, who are we to disrepect his wishes. Just dont have salmon bowls, their gross.

This reminds me of an appearance Billy Bragg made on Canadian TV back in the 80s, he proceeded to slag off everything Canadian throughout the interview. I don't know what was wrong with him, but he wasn't welcome back there for a while.

Also just read the thing about Andy gill (the former guitar maestro with Gang Of Four) on 6music - hilarious. I was actually watching a video of them on the Old Grey Whistle Test the other day - great stuff. Am I the only one who thinks he looked like Johnny Marr back in the day ?

Ah..that's why. I wasn't able to attend the Massey show.
The 2000 Hamilton show was one of my favorites because I had front row center tickets and it was an absolute dream. Every other Morrissey show I attended, I was always quite far back.

Mmm...maple leaf soup. It's the best! You really should try it. It's one of my favorites. (next to whale blubber soup of course. nothing beats that!)

You're wearing a kilt right now, aren't you Johnny?
*peeks under J's skirt* Oh my!

Yes, of course -- because here in Canada, the temperature never makes it above -40. Burrrr. Nasty northern summer weather.
