Why is audience suddenly so static?

Think about common people, the way they are living, the way they are dying, the way they are being repressed and tortured by formal and informal security forces supporters of the ilegitimate regime. Think about the way some press people like your comrades are being financed to excuse as mere poverty the extreme misery, subjection and famine of millions who live in one of the most rich territories of the world. Think about this: if some powerful people began wars in very far places to control oil reserves, they would not tolerate the biggest oil reserve of the world not being under their control. If Maduro remains there in the backyard, so close to everything, that means he is very useful to their interests and he will be supported while he sells the oil to the right people to the right price. Meanwhile, common people and the opposition in Venezuela are being fooled by the rest of the world. Nobody cares about their hungry, their institutions, their freedom or their human rights. Like nobody cared about all the bloody dictatorships supported or backed during decades because they were useful to powerful interests.

Again. Your conclusions are just wrong. Again. Your imagination runs wild about my comrades. This conversation has run it's course.

It isn't brave, it's mind-numbingly ignorant and juvenile. If you think relatives of dead soldiers are going to be listening to IBTL thinking, 'Wow, this guy really has a point, my son really was stupid canon-fodder,' you are seriously detached from the real world. Perhaps you are unaffected by these issues where you live. I'm pretty sure Morrissey is or he wouldn't make these inane comments. When ISIS come calling round your way and they're bombing your young people and driving trucks at swathes of pedestrians, you might find you feel differently about the people who risk their lives to protect us. When ISIS come calling round Morrissey's way, as a proud 'humasexual' he will be at the front of the queue for extra special levels of torture and degradation and he might be glad we have armies to defend our - and his - liberal values.

yes, you're stating the obvious.

The song is not an answer to the solution of war, it is just pointing out the pointlessness of deaths that will never stop wars from being fought and that human participation is partly to blame.

'love peace and harmony ? oh very nice very nice very nice, but maybe in the next world'

' I hear messages such as soldiers are stupid and responsible for war, and police in Venezuela are corrupt'

well, they partly are.

'police in Venezuela are corrupt'

singing about the bad apples of the bunch.

'but rather lacking in originality, insight and depth.'

where/when did he say he was trying to be original insightful or deep ? Mama it's just rock n roll.. with a brave and simple message that unfortunately still needs to be pointed out.

'It's also pretty ignorant and offensive to families of soldiers who have lost their lives defending their country.'

offensive? hopefully they'll ask why a person would sing such things and see who is really to blame for taking their loved ones away for NO good reason.

'lost their lives defending their country'

defending for a pay check, it is their job to kill, there's not much heroic about that, sorry. Most join because they have little choice, dying for a country that was shitty enough to put them in that position in the first place, a position where they felt that joining was their best or only option in life. Very sad.
