why hasn't morrissey toured africa?

Maybe he's afraid he'll see Madonna.

Helloooo twinposter! :highfive:look above :D

Also he's afraid Madonna would ridicule him when doing the local dances cos it's a fact she can dance better. (don't start arguing)

A self-financed 17 date tour of Kinshasa would be a lovely idea. I believe he's sold three albums there via amazon, so there's every possibility Julia might have somebody to talk to while 'queueing' outside the venue.

thoughts?

well the arabian part, between africa and the rough middle east, could
be a go go

Sjeiks with lots of oil money, south aian people as workers to spend their money

I think it's the danger , the unknown, hygiene.

looking for veneus, how to travel.

not much bands have expierence with touring Africa, a country called south Africa bands got banned when they played there, at the time of the white
power, and Nelson in jail

now with the World Cup soccer 2010, Bono will be there, again pleading
for worldpeace and maybe encourage bands to come to Africa

North Africa countries like Morocco , Tunesia, Egypt seem fine to do a gig
but they're not western music based, thats the key point
African countries still favour their own kind of music

a few artist from north africa had hitsingles in europe

7 seconds neneh cherry/youssou 'n dour [or something like that, and my fave
cheb chaled- didi, an Algerian who lives in France, it's called RAI music here in the Netherlands, and its that music that's popular in north africa

so I think, music companies have to invest in getting airplay, or musicstations with western music

satisfied?

Great list! :lbf:

Also, there probably isn't enough other stuff do there on the nights he cancels.

Quite frankly, I assumed this thread was sarcastic in nature. However, I can see some of you have thought about this in some depth. Please continue.
