Morrissey Central WHY HAS COMMON SENSE BECOME SO … UNCOMMON? (July 4, 2020)

Sure Nerak.

There was an arrest today in East London of some potential terrorists, the place where my family lived for over 40 yrs. Made me so sad. Genuinely sad to see what has become of my old home. Ended up arguing with a local Labour councillor (Asian) about it on FB.....he didn't seem that bothered....ended up calling me a racist because i actually care about the area. Depressing.
It is problematic the way the term ‘racist’ is used to close discussion down. In principle, people seem to believe if they can just re-label all opposition or criticism as racist, then they would have a divine right to rule.

Is it likely that the East End had no crime till after 2005?

I think you're fixating on Black & Asian people because you're immersing your mind in dodgy Facebook groups.

It was a safe area for my grandparents, mum and me as a kid. Are you going to mention the Kray Twins at some point? I'm not surprised at your dismissive reply....pretty similar to the guy i spoke to on FB.....when you don't have roots anywhere, you have no attachment to an area. As for dodgy groups....wasn't one of your members done for child porn the other day?

London's always had some grim crime.

I'm not being dismissive. We're not only hearing this kind of thing all the time, it killed one of our MPs.

An ex Labour mp got done. He was thrown out of the party for violence years ago.

It doesn't mean there isn't racism though.

Jo Cox...yes it was tragic but all the kids having their brains blown apart in Manc because of mass immigration was even more tragic.

It was the same thing - unhappy people exposed to online propaganda who end up killing because of it.

If all the terrorism that has happened in Europe, committed by followers of Islam hadn't occurred....Jo Cox would still be alive.

He was reading about Hitler & white nationalism & Dylan Roof, who killed Christians for being black & Anders, who killed white kids for being more successful than him.

If the internet didn't exist she might still be alive.

No. But even where it might be recognised it shouldn’t be used to devalue a human feeling. The Idea of ‘white flight’ has been used frame a behaviour as racist, but it does represent a real felt anxiety. Often, it seems like those determining something to be racist feel they are operating on a different, almost transcendent, plane. But the designation itself is rooted in anxiety.

I put off listening to Morrissey's new album until today out of fear of disappointment. I regretted buying it almost immediately. Regret it doubly after coming to this site after so long.

Us arguing about things doesn't have anything to do with Morrissey or his album.

Yes...he was reading all that shit as a response to what's happened in the world. Anders killed those kids because he saw them as aspiring proponents of a world he didn't want.....leftists that would love to fill Scandi with refugees.

There isn't any real evidence of white flight - there's certainly nothing like the pattern in Northern Ireland where someone knows your religion from your street address.

Nerak:

I wasn't referencing the argument going back and forth... I hadn't read any of the 57 tabs. It was a general comment regarding the content of the OP. But I can see that my language wasn't exactly clear.

He was reading that shit because it was there & it seemed to explain his misery.

It's not just race - there are hundreds of forums telling men that women are all bitches & they should kill us.

Oh, that.

Moz seems to be worried the Lockdown is leading to a police state.

It's his usual, but he's old & his YouTube algorithm is screwed.

I wasn’t conscious of it until Trevor Phillips (speaking on TV) alerted me to it, and it’s racist dimensions, either in the late 90s or early noughties.
