Why do you think Morrissey attracts 'mostly latinos'?

Have you watched The Importance of Being Morrisey?

Some Latino fans answer the question that they can relate to Morrissey's songs like rest of us.

i wouldnt say he attracts mostly latinos.well i have never attend a show in the US.-i wouls say his audience is well mixed, eh?
..so what do i know?
there is a documentary on this topic by Jessica Hundley
-maybe on youtube?

something from the article-lighly offtopic
this made me smile since i like erykah a lot...
Five years ago, I stood in a line between Erykah Badu and Morrissey at the 7-Eleven in my neighborhood in LA (the one on Sunset near Sierra Bonita). Erykah was buying bottled water; Morrissey had milk and a breakfast sausage. They didn't recognize one another — or me for that matter. I was buying brownie mix.

a lot of articles on this topic google it!

Say what??? I highly doubt that any 7-Eleven would have veggie sausages, even in LA.

i read one article where the writer said that a Hispanic fan thought it was peculiar that he (the writer) was a Morrissey fan, since he was white. the writer thought that was completely bizarre, and it seemed strange to me too, since the only Morrissey fans i know are white hipster types.

Moz attracts a lot of Latinos in the cities where a lot of latinos live.

If you go see Moz in LA and Las Vegas or anwhere in the Southwest border states you will see a good proportion of Latino fans.

If go go see Moz in Columbus, OH all you see is a bunch of white people with far less style.

Haha because they're superior beings of course

Many thanks for acknowledging this blindingly obvious fact.

Now, excuse me while I back to reading The Daily Mail/The Sun/The Mirror/The Daily Star/The Daily Sport (which has very little to do with sport).

;)

p.s. I don't think he does attract "mostly Latinos". He attracts many people of many different races.

someone had to do it. :o:p

In answer to the original question, part of it might be to do with the way that many latinos feel 'left out' of American society. Much of the Smiths and Morrissey's work appeals to the disenfranchised due to the repeated themes of isolation, despair, hatred of authority and railing against the establishment.

That's my guess anyway
