Who's Going to the Chicago Show?

Whats the chances of getting a ticket at the door - or by a tout. Thinking of flying to London, Ont and bussing it down to Chicago.

JIM

I'll have 2 extras to sell in line at the show if anybody wants them (due to the fact that my husband who isn't even coming to the show with me bought me 2 tickets at the exact same moment I was buying them at work). I had 2 people PM me about them on here, but they never got back to me unless somehow I didn't get their return PMs.

Thanks for the input about clothes, parking, etc. It should be a great show!

I hope you all have a great time in Chicago. Gees - you folks deserve this gig. We have been very lucku here in the UK this year and I really hope everyone has a top night with Moz on the 21st.

Heard that. Only 4 US shows, 2 of which were in Oklahoma and one was a unappealing festival. I certainly hope that doesn't become a trend.

Hi all,
I'm soooo glad I get to see Morrissey again this year! I'm taking my sister for her 18th birthday (rather slick of me, I think), and am trying to plan for the trip. We're flying in from L.A.
Hi to everyone I met in OKC and Tulsa earlier this year. I was the girl in line with the lawn chairs, blankets, sunscreen, coolers, etc. We had an all-day Morrissey Picnic of Awesomeness! It was a great way to spend the day and an experience I'll never forget.
I'd love to do it again, but I'm fearful of the weather and other logistics.
(umm, I've never really seen snow, if that helps)...
The plan was to pack everything in the rental car, park near the venue, camp out in comfort/style all morning/afternoon, and put it all back before the doors open.
Is this doable? Would other transportation be a better way to go? Can a person survive outdoors, all day, in Chicago, in December, with just the layers, coats, blankets, and coffee she can carry?
Thanks for any input. Will probably be so excited that I won't notice the frostbite!

Denise, Ignorant but Enthusiastic!

For the Midwest shows (Chicago being one of them) on the YATQ tour, we did just that. I remember running back to the car right before doors were supossed to open and throwing the coats in the car and then freezing for about 15 minutes. It's worth it though, it sure gets hot inside.

I was wondering about restroom breaks. Are there restaurants nearby where you can run in & use the facilities, and maybe get a cup of coffee? I plan to get there pretty early too, and this is my biggest concern.

To the person who was asking about what to wear, here's my plan & I hope it works: Wear several layers, but not a heavy coat. Wear the type of light but warm jacket you'd wear skiing or camping, with a polarfleece jacket or sweatshirt underneath, gloves and a hat. Tie outer layers around waist when you get inside, stuffing gloves and hat in pockets of jacket.

Oh and btw PLEASE PLEASE let the '07 US tour listed on the main page and in here be true!!!!!!! :D

Yeah there's the Starbucks which is extremely close. There was also a Mexican Restaurant behind the venue and across an avenue, as well as a sweet record/book shop. That's all I remember from last time.

I should add that I'll be travelling out with user sweetadeline. We will be departing from Philly, and like she said, if anyone needs a ride, we would love the company.

I've been to Chicago a couple times. I think we will be out there for a few days. If anybody from here wants to meet up and explore the town a bit, or grab some lunch, or whatever, just shoot me a message.

This will be my 10th show. I don't think I will stand out in line this time. I'm sure it will be plenty cold, and all that standing around doesn't do much good for my back by the time Mozz finally hits the stage. I think for the first time I will just come in at normal time, especially since the stage is so high.

My friend and I are driving from Minneapolis to see Morrissey. We're both very excited!

I think we may go to the afterparty at Neo as well.

greetings out of towners. im also exited to see moz again.... yeah plenty of parking in the area. i aslo suggest neo for the after party. they normally play new wave, shoe gaze and the likes on tues. neo is on clark st. just south of fullerton ave.

neo-chicago.com i think is their website. anyways it should be a good show... i hope he plays national front disco in chicago

Although I wish he would tour the U.S., it does make this show that much more special. It is so cool how fans are traveling from all over for this show. We plan to go to Neo after the show as well.

A friend of mine are flying in from Central California the day prior and I was wondering about cameras and what to wear. Thanks for all that posted the info concerning coats, sweaters, etc. Much appreciated. I am soooooooooo excited!!!!

I have two extra tickets to the Chicago show. I do not want them scalped. I am not looking to make money. I just want to sell them at face value to a good fan who does not already have them. Contact me or reply to this if you are interested.

I'm driving up there from Cincinnati, and have two extra tickets. I had originally expected two other people to go, but now it will just be me and the g/f. Hoping I can find someone to sell them to at the door.

hi .. i've never posted before, but i've been lurking around here for ages.. (sorry if that's creepy) :) .. anyway, i went to about nine shows in the UK earlier this year (i'm from the US; boston, to be precise) and didn't know a soul at any of them .. it would have been nice just to have someone to say hi to, so in the hopes of maybe bucking the trend at the chicago show, i'll be there ... i have absolutely no idea where, or when -- i'd love to say i'll be in line all day long and up front all night, but that's a little ambitious... but regardless, i'll be there :) i'm flying in on monday, so if anybody wants to get together (or if people already are getting together), i'd love to meet up .. dinner, drinks, record shopping, etc.

oh .. another thing, and i'm sure this has been covered a million times, so i apologize, but if anybody can recommend a decent, not-too-expensive hotel/motel that is convenient to both the venue and the airport (o'hare ... ugh; can't wait to see that place on wednesday morning), i'd be much obliged ...

for the record, if anyone's interested .. i'm 24, female, student .. um .. here's my myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/50605169

i think that about covers it

hope to see you there .. safe trips, etc. all around!

Does anyone still need tickets? It looks like I'm definitely going to have 2 extras, and possibly even 3 or 4. My g/f might not be able to get off work, and if that's the case, i don't know if i want to drive 5 hours by myself.

But, I got the instant delivery tickets that you just print out, so if somebody is interested in buying them, you wouldn't have to wait for delivery or anything. You could just print them out on your computer.
Let me know if you're interested, I'd like to get at least some of my money back. I definitely have 2 extras.. but i'm praying that she can get off work so we can go; otherwise i might have 3 or 4 extras.
thanks.

It's getting closer! I'm flying out of California around 8am tomorrow. Planning on going to the after party at Neo Tuesday night as well. I'll be with my friend who has purple hair. You can't miss us!
Eeek! I'm so stoked to see Moz soon!

update: my g/f got the day off, so we will be going. so i have 2 tickets left to sell. if interested, please let me know. you can pay with paypal, and i can deliver them instantly over email... or if nobody wants to do that, i will be selling them at the door.
not looking for profit, just hoping to get what i paid for them ($45 each after fees)
thanks!

Oh dear, I am not very excited to be getting there at 4. Seeing as this will be my first Moz experience, and I'm only 5 feet tall. Who wants to save me a spot in line? Haha. Yeah right.
