I read all those Dune books on the 80's. That was more my type of thing. Or Anne Rice's Vampires. I completely missed this Harry Pottter thing. When I worked at the library though I was exposed to Harry Potter mania. People that only rented movies would check out Harry Potter books. Once I called these people whose son was on the Harry Potter waiting list, to say the book was in, and the mom practically cried she was so grateful.
