Which songs would you have at your wedding?/The Official Love Songs Thread

bikubesong

sober and in celibacy
OK, Im dreaming about falling in love, it just wont happen, not for real anyway. So yesterday me and my friend went to a mall, got this little paper strips where we could test perfumes, sprayed them with men's perfume (Jean Paul, with stripes:D) Erm, so that we could smell em and dream about a man. We're almoust setting up posters around town with love ads. Anyway, to help the mood... Im looking for good love songs

Here's some of my favorites

Of course.. Morrissey- I'd love to
Leonard Cohen- So long Marianne
Beach Boys- God Only Knows
Leo Sayer- When I need you
Almoust everything by Håkan Hellström
Bob Dylan -If Not For You

Into my arms - Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds
To the end - Blur
Let love rule - Lenny Kravitz
Love song - The Cure
Hamburg song - Keane
Somebody - Depeche Mode

Not really a lovey-dovey song, but beautiful lyrics:
Blue Veins - Raconteurs

When I was surrounded by the world
You were the only one who came
And you were the only one astounded
Which kept me grounded
As the other girls thrashed my very name

Then I looked over
Just in time to see her smiling back at me
And saying everything's OK
As long as you're inside my blue veins
Your blue veins

Yeah, and the feeling that you gave me
No matter what I do or where I go it always will remain
And those who would enslave me
To get to me must get past you and will have no luck
'Cause you'll protect me from all pain

(That's true, you know why) You're the most beautiful
Yeah, the most beautiful thing
'Cause anything else can't compare
Must be the blood that's running through your blue veins
Your blue veins

And I know you won't deceive me like the rest
And there's nothing you need to explain
You always were the first one to believe me
When I said to you girl I think it's gonna rain
But I could be wrong

Yeah, but all of these things, all these things
They're all truly nice but ain't nothing
Ain't nothing compared to the love
That's running through your little blue veins
Your blue veins

For The Chronic House Kidz by Tom Frampton. :)

When we met the night before,
At a party, at The Fort,
There was cheap beer and a bonfire,
And punk rock and lots of kids,
And Twister on the dance floor.
It was fate when our eyes first met,
I broke out in a sweat,
When she kissed me on the rooftop
I nearly died and I could of right then without regret.

So we went exploring the abandoned factories,
I got nervous and wanted to leave,
She called me gutless and laughed while I complained,
I turned for a minute and she'd run away,
And suddenly there were flashlights and shouts from the guards,
The cops stole my shoelaces but you, you stole my heart.

Two years passed til we met again,
10 feet from the security fence,
The bullets were flying and I could hardly see,
The tear gas clouds were so dense,
But she spotted me through my mask,
Right before the concussion blast,
And we ran through the streets til there was nowhere to go,
and the riot cops were moving in fast.

They took our puppets first, and then they took our food,
I turned for a minute, and they snatched you,
The tasers were brutal and the water cannon's cold as hell,
The memory of her kept me warm in my cell,
Her grappling hook ripped off a piece of the fence and her smile tore me apart,
The cops stole my shoelaces but you, you stole my heart. :sweet:

I always wanted the first dance after the marriage to be "I'd love to"
i do not see that happening.:p

as a former dj, i feel bad for those attending any future wedding i have and for the dj i would hire,

it would be all motown, northern soul, britpop and some indie music and some sinatra thrown in.

Billy Idol's "White Wedding" :D Just joking. Probably, "Only With You".

:sweet:

In My Life - The Beatles.

YES.

We played a slideshow at our reception, and "In My Life" was one of the three songs that we played during it. (The others were "When I Grow Up" from the Free to be You and Me soundtrack and The Beatles' "Real Love".)

Here are some of the other songs that we played either during the ceremony or at the reception:

Frank Sinatra - "All the Way" (first dance)
Paul McCartney - "We Got Married"
Paul McCartney - "Maybe I'm Amazed"
The Beatles - "If I Needed Someone" (err, I know)
The Beatles - "Here, There and Everywhere"
The Beatles - "Something"
The Beatles - "And I Love Her"
The Beatles - "I Will"
John Lennon - "Love"
John Lennon - "Woman"
John Lennon - "Oh My Love"
Paul McCartney & Wings - "My Love"
Dead Can Dance - "Saltarello" (exit music)
R.E.M. - "You Are the Everything"
The Smiths - "There Is a Light That Never Goes Out"

There were many more, but I can't remember them.

I'd have:

Sail On: The Commodores
A Little Time: The Beautiful South
You've Lost That Loving Feeling: Righteous Brothers

Yes of course I'm joking but they can actually be chosen as music to be played during the ceremony at Manchester registry office.

If I got married again I'd really have, 'It's The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)
