So with many of last year’s biggest names unable to resist the odd pop at each other, we thought it only fitting to bring you a selection of 2014’s finest feuds, fights and fallouts from the fascinating world of celebrity. Be warned, it may get nasty…

MORRISSEY VS THE WORLD

FORMER Smiths singer Morrissey had a particularly busy year for picking fights.

The 55-year-old started as he meant to go on by claiming The Beatles weren’t as good as everyone thinks: “I thought four of their songs were magnificent but was I ever influenced by The Beatles? No.”

As if this were not enough, Mozza later soared dangerously close to the sun by venting his spleen at his own record label Harvest for its supposed failure to promote his album World Peace Is None Of Your Business. His comments quickly led to him being dropped by the company.

The quote is hardly a jab at the Beatles. He liked a few songs and didn't really care for em. What's disrespectful about that?

The full quote was actually "I thought four of their songs were magnificent, and if a band can give you four magnificent songs then that's good enough for me".

I wonder what the four songs are.

Silly newspaper. Stating an opinion these days is called 'picking fights'. God forbid anyone ever says what they feel. No wonder Moz gets depressed surrounded by empty headed fools who twist everything he says or doesn't say. Scum journalist hacks and bad-breath editors would do anything to sell a few newspapers.

yeah it reminds me of the whole ariel pink is misogynistic bit

He doesn't get depressed, he lives on the planet and enjoys luxurious food in 5* hotels, have you not read wink mag the bi annual lifestyle magaazine ? He likes to lock himself away in the corner of a hotel smelling meat and hoping its human flesh, (safe in the knowledge it's not). He likes to write notes and rants on paper which makes traveling hard for him because he has to keep packing his notepads away which as a result he has to unpack them at the next opulent hotel and try to put them back in order, his other favourite pastime is watching utube clips of himself or ones his congregation have had to make on his behalf to put to his songs for some reason or other (it's not his fault though whatever the reason). If I could offer him some advice it would be this. Yo Steven stop living in the past like Fred Dibnah get yourself an Apple Mac man ffs! You can write notes and file them, youtube yourself, email your Julie, FaceTime Dr Jeremie Fine, watch some huma-porn, my fitness pal etc your hectic travelling lifestyle would be so much easier.

Both Marr and Morrissey have said that The White Album, especially "Cry Baby Cry" was influential in recording 'Strangeways .. I wouldn't believe he would slag off The Beatles like that and that was taken out of context.

admiring production isnt the same as liking a song just sayin
