Here Come The Tears was, for me, the best of 2005. I also got to see them live which was my highlight of 2005.

This year I discovered a lot of music that had passed me by in the past, but being specific about new music, I would have to say The Milk-Eyed Mender by Joanna Newsom - wonderful. I also enjoyed The Magic Numbers.

I'm painting myself purple to celebrate Democracy in Aye-Rak! Happy New Year!!

"Siberia" from Echo & the Bunnymen and "For Those Once Loyal" by Bolt Thrower

Hmm...I don't think many of the CDs I got this year were actually 2005 releases. I'm still catching up with 2000-2004. I'll say Regina Spektor "Soviet Kitsch."

Also, recently saw The Spunks and I like their new CD, "Born to be Mild."

Um...I liked Cobra Verde's "Copycat Killers" album of covers, but since it's all covers I'm not sure it counts. Astonishing version of Donna Summers' "I Feel Love."

Been playing BR549's "Tangled in the Pines" alot, but that's probably 2004.....

Ah f*** it.

I spend most of my music dollars on the greats of old. It's hard to motivated into buying CDs by the idiots of today when there's such riches to be explored from the past. Most recently I've dug into the oevres of Gene Vincent, The Merle Haggard, and The Ohio Players.

Yes, purple in Iraq. Don't forget the Orange Revolution - Ukraine. Rose - Georgia. Cedar - Lebanon.

I always stand in solidarity with those seeking democracy.

The King Khan and BBQ Show, The Fall "Heads Roll", Superwolf, The Dirtbombs singles comp., The Tears, Reigning Sound Live At Goner, LCD Soundsystem were just some of the highlights

LCD Soundsystem, Franz Ferdinand, Gorillaz, Richard Hawley, Rolling Stones

One of the above is not necessarily true

Is the Depeche Mode album really that good? heard a lot of positives about it, will be investigating as I'm going to see them in March.

Oh and if someone mentions that fat t*at from Take That I'll chin 'em. Twice.
