What song are you listening to right now?

Yays for days. :highfive:
today the first casket on the oktoberfest was tapped, and after only 10 minutes the first comatose drunken heap of a visitor had to be driven to hospital. so, here is some more schunkelmusik for getting drunk with the authorities' permission, which seems to be an essential part of the fest's success.

The marxists from Umeå make a comeback with a very swedish inspired video where they use people dressed as the members of the Nordic Resistance Movement, the nazis.

This made NMR publish this article:

CULTURE. The Marxist hardcore band Refused has released a new music video for the song REV001. In the music video, background dancers are seen wearing white shirts and wearing plastic shields.

The hardcore band Refused from Umeå grew up in the 90s with its loud music that propagated for veganism, sobriety and Marxism. Now the band is trying to make a comeback with a music video for the new single "REV001", which uses the Nordic resistance movement's aesthetics for the purpose.

In the video, singer Dennis Lyxzén shares the scene with four men, dressed in the uniform that the Resistance Movement wears on solemn occasions: Black pants, white shirt and green tie. They also carry plexiglass collar shields, which are strongly associated with Resistance Movement officials during demonstrations and popularized by the name "plastic shields".

That Refused feels compelled to steal aesthetics from the Nordic resistance movement in its attempt to make a comeback can be explained by a statement the band made earlier this year:

We who believe in a fair distribution of resources in an equal, ecologically sustainable direct democracy, we who use gender-neutral pronouns and words such as solidarity, moral responsibility, intersectionality and class war, we who believe in the Marxist principle 'Of each after ability, for each and every one as needed 'is currently being chased, ignored, against the wall, on falls, bypassing, our mobility limited, our rights violated. It has been clear for a long time: it is a shame for our values.

DN's cultural writer Fredrik Strage - already open with his love for national aesthetics - also paid tribute to Refused's music video in a chronicle. He even writes that he likes it more than fashwave and that it gives him "the same forbidden tickling" as a scene in the musical "Cabaret".

The scene he is referring to is when a boy belonging to Hitlerjugend sings "Tomorrow belongs to me" - a song that Skewdriver has made a cover for - on a sunny outdoor restaurant in a village in National Socialist Germany. The scene ends with everyone on the outdoor terrace agreeing to the song and raising their right arms in Roman greetings.

The scene in "Cabaret" which gives Fredrik Strage "the same forbidden tickling" as Refused's new music video.

Strage concludes his chronicle by giving the Marxists of Refused a liberal boot, while at the same time appointing REV001 as the "music video of the year":

Those who do not know that Refused is Sweden's most anti-fascist band may think that the dubious video is problematic. Anyone who, like me, is liberal also probably disturbs that the band in a press release blames the neo-Nazism on capitalism that makes people "infected with the poison of need, the poison of need, assured, placed against each other by ignorant, unscrupulous, child-killing cod to tyrants". However, irresponsible sexualisation of political extremism is even closer to my heart than market economy, so I hereby designate "REV001" for this year's music video.
