dammit, I had to cancel my flight. they changed the itinerary on me (I guess that's what happens when you book with a cheap airline? also, maybe when you book so far in advance?), and the plane was leaving too early. since I have to be able to get over to the Vancouver airport in the morning (by bus), and since that takes about 4 hours, the earlier departure just didn't work. I could've stayed overnight, but on the other hand, I thought I might book a new flight for june instead--to give myself a little more time, and to save a little more money--which I will do once they refund me (hopefully i'll get a full refund with no fee since, after all, it was their fault, not mine). it's a stupid time of year to be going, in june. all the hostels are going to be full (of college kids no doubt--ugh), and more expensive. but oh well, I suppose I must as i absolutely cannot spend another summer here.

Good to hear it. Yes, maybe the extra time will turn out to be really useful. I'm of the view that these little twists and turns in our fate usually work out for the best, even if we can't see it at the time.
