What is the Morrissey Fan Club in regard to tour ticket sales?

I inquired with a venue about the presale and their reply was:

The presale will be through Morrissey’s fan club. I believe they will provide the needed password. Our website is not involved.

I dont think one really exists. I think anyone who is able to get the password (greatesthits) from here or TTY qualifies as a member.

It's just a generic term probably. They issue the password to the artist and it's up to them what they do with it. A lot of artists will run a fanclub and decide to issue it to their members only, usually for a fee. Morrissey has just issued it to everyone who wants to know. What a bastard money grubber he is!
