Fartblinda (Speed Blind)
Having bumped into the actress Julia Ragnarsson on Friday it felt weird watching the premiere of this and the first two episodes. It premieres on swedish national channel TV 4 next month.
Based on a book this deals with a bank in Stockholm that cooks the books and Julia plays the journalist who ends up getting to write a story about the bank when at the same time being involved with the CEO of that bank who is of course married with kids.
The cast is made up of familiar faces for us swedes but I am not sure I quite like the mix. I feel that actor Varela in the above poster feels too young for this part and he's always had this puppy look even in all his previous work made up mostly of criminal dramas. He just comes across as far too nice to play the hardman roles. Him in a suit in a bank environment is like something the cat dragged in.
The winter scenes from Stockholm looks nice on the eye and the people behind it are clearly inspired by The girl with the dragon tattoo as well as a host of swedish productions set in Stockholm.
I like Julia's new style here having left the cute nice girl persona behind her for a more rough character. She must have got a pay rise from flashing a tit here giving the men a rise of another kind.
I find the story a bit thin and forced and that goes for the acting as well and it may be that it will take the cast a few episodes to land in the characters they are playing and for it all to gel.

(She's not blonde anymore and is once again a dark haired intelligent young woman with eyes you can drown in. She looks great in fashion but is completely uninterested in looks and fashion and is a very natural young woman in private and she had put on a bit of weight since she shot this one cause she is super thin when playing Bea in "Fartblinda".)
