Fartblinda (Speed Blind)

Having bumped into the actress Julia Ragnarsson on Friday it felt weird watching the premiere of this and the first two episodes. It premieres on swedish national channel TV 4 next month.

Based on a book this deals with a bank in Stockholm that cooks the books and Julia plays the journalist who ends up getting to write a story about the bank when at the same time being involved with the CEO of that bank who is of course married with kids.

The cast is made up of familiar faces for us swedes but I am not sure I quite like the mix. I feel that actor Varela in the above poster feels too young for this part and he's always had this puppy look even in all his previous work made up mostly of criminal dramas. He just comes across as far too nice to play the hardman roles. Him in a suit in a bank environment is like something the cat dragged in.

The winter scenes from Stockholm looks nice on the eye and the people behind it are clearly inspired by The girl with the dragon tattoo as well as a host of swedish productions set in Stockholm.

I like Julia's new style here having left the cute nice girl persona behind her for a more rough character. She must have got a pay rise from flashing a tit here giving the men a rise of another kind.

I find the story a bit thin and forced and that goes for the acting as well and it may be that it will take the cast a few episodes to land in the characters they are playing and for it all to gel.

(She's not blonde anymore and is once again a dark haired intelligent young woman with eyes you can drown in. She looks great in fashion but is completely uninterested in looks and fashion and is a very natural young woman in private and she had put on a bit of weight since she shot this one cause she is super thin when playing Bea in "Fartblinda".)

The two Julia's as Ragnarsson and Julia Dufvenius feature as the mistress and wife of the CEO. Dufvenius is of course the last woman that Ingmar Bergman invested heavily in making her star in "Saraband".

Here he tells her how he found her being a fan of her debut role in the swedish coming of age tv series "Glappet" (the gap) where she and her teenage friend ventured into a world of rich older men.

Me and my mother loved that show and this is part 1 but no english subs.

Julia Dufvenius in Glappet is in fact playing Rifke long before her time. A fantasy world girl changing her voice pretending to be a famous actress or anything famous giving make believe interviews in front of the mirror.

Hit english and then CC. Looks like only the first episode is available this way.

The Swedes have done it again

This TV-mini-series is one of the best TV-series I've seen in my life. It has brilliant acting, by the two lead actresses anyway. An rare kind of humour, based more on leading the characters into funny situations rather than using funny/silly dialog. But through this the story keeps it serious undertone. It's not the first good TV series that come from Sweden and I hope there will be more in the future.

I dedicate Glappet to Rifke!

But beware that subtitle cat can sometimes give you horrible subtitles with crap translation but in this case english ones are available meaning someone must have done that work cause the direct translate is shit.

"Honor"

About four women at a law firm in Stockholm specialising on mens violence against women. A lot of sex in this one and we saw the four actresses on the TV4 morning show in our hotel room in Stockholm a week ago and feared the worst as it was like watching a feminist me too campaign speech.

But Sofia Helin who came up with this idea, she played Saga in "The Bridge", created this tv series with the actresses in it. Julia Dufvenius who starred in Bergman's last production, Ewa Röse, Anja Lundqvist and Alexandra Rapaport play the four women seeing a sexual predator in every guy they see in a hotel lobby.

The blonde woman is together with a middle east guy but also fools around with her white swedish colleague so through it all the story stays neutral in that regard however long that lasts.

2 episodes in and the cast is well known to swedes but so far it feels a bit weak and Ewa Röse cannot act for her life always looking like she is about to burst out laughing or giggling turning every scene into a cosy one even when it's not fitting at all.

Not a fave as such but Pilla makes me watch the swedish version of Paradise Hotel that started today which means autumn is truly here.

Marcelo Pena is back again after last year but how he has aged being miserable after the break up from two girls. Hairline is heading backwards and he looks bloated and fat not defined anywhere like before.

Very ugly cast this year. As always the host looks the best and Rebecca Stella is back after Malin Gramer left the channel for another one.

As always they shoot the swedish one in Mexico. First episode is here without subs:

Mindhunter season two is better than the first. Subtler with its allusions to all of the problems profiling will face from the accusations of racial profiling with Holden and the hotel lady, from Wendy having to hide being gay due to its connections to deviancy to bills son showing signs of being disturbed (if you wanna see it that way as the show clearly wants you to I think so it can have a gotcha check later. To align our perspective with those in the show judging ). The Atlanta child murders were a good backdrop to the season as well as no one remembers it. The man they had play the killer Wayne was outstanding. Also the guy playing Manson who’s one of the interviews they do this season is outstanding. He just got done playing Manson in once upon a time in Hollywood

This looks like it will be Marcelo's season and this is the second episode with a title he came up with.

"Can't put a leash on a wolf".

Arriba!

He met his ex on this show last year so he is cautious this time around but already a girl is treating him like she is his mom.

Vamos a la playa oh oh oh oh oh

The OC housewives and the youngest looks like Madonna back in the day.

Her DUI has landed her in serious problems on top of her separation. No Vicky in this episode makes me wonder.

The attorney/lawyer couple having issues doesn't surprise me and I told Pilla long ago they don't match at all. Why she persists in dressing like some 80's soap star when she is too fat for it makes me wonder.

She needs a serious makeover.

Divorce season 3 and only discovered it tonight which saved the night. Very funny and it is obvious the writers have perfected their way to tell this story balancing between drama and humour. The characters are more hysterical than ever.

Urban birding!

So brand new IMDB hasn't got any info on it.

"THE TOP TEN INTERNATIONAL BESTSELLER Winner of the August Prize for Fiction Dazzlingly inventive, witty and mysterious: a writer pieces together the story of a young man's death in an exhilarating narrative puzzle reminiscent of the hit podcast Serial. A young man dies in a car crash - accident or suicide? An unnamed writer with an agenda of his own sets out to piece together Samuel's story. From friends, relatives and neighbours, a portrait emerges of a loving son, reluctant bureaucrat, contrived poser, loyal friend. But who was Samuel really, and what happened to him? In filling out the contours of his existence, the writer grasps at a fundamental question: how do we account for the substance of a life? 'My books of the year [include] Jonas Hassen Khemiri's enigmatic novel' Joyce Carol Oates Heartbreakingly sad and laugh-out-loud funny . . . Its chorus of drifters, romantics and cynics stick in the memory, each competing to tell their own truth’ Hari Kunzru ?'Unforgettable. In this non-putdownable puzzle of a story, Khemiri manages to both thrill and break your heart' Gary Shteyngart 'Khemiri's audacious and richly drawn novel pushes the boundaries of literary fiction . . . Beneath the structural pyrotechnics lies a broader story of imposition, appropriation and lack of individual agency: that of the immigrant experience"

Lucy Scholes, The National.

I am excited about watching Pernilla August act again after years as a director.

A german "Gomorra" of sorts set in Berlin where the arab mafia is in charge. I have two seasons of this to watch. A few known faces from before and with each episode it gets better and better.

They dare to depict the arabs in a not politically correct manner in this one. It made me realise how the jews revenge on Germany for the war was to flood the country with porn and nowadays jews of course run the global porn business.

Porn has completely destroyed Germany from within and enslaved white ethnic german men and women to a drug of the mind that breaks them down like any other drug. As if Germany wasn't gloomy and destructive already the arabic immigration has completely destroyed the country and the culture and if some feel that England is gone cause of immigration then Germany is the worst example in Europe if not the world.

If people are so afraid of the Ku Klux Klan they perhaps should reconsider and fear arab clans instead. But for that to happen the lefties need to get their heads out of the sand.

Glorious violence in this one for the blood thirsty viewers out there.
