What gender is Morrissey?

Ask J. K. Rowling...

.

Aw Surface!
you do care about him

Of course I do, I don't hate him, I just don't agree with some of his views and I detest the shit on Morrissey Central but gender is an odd thing isn't it, you are physically what you are but your mind can tell you something else and that should be respected.

🤒

so, if 'your mind' 'tells you'
you are a zucchini gender that must make you one.

f*** that bitch btw..

Hmm ... there was a recent thread here with you supporting entirely shutting down Morrissey's music due to his alleged "hate".

But I can't see a comment like this toward Rowling as much different than hateful. Or, in Morrissey's case, that shutting down an entire set of views different from your own is not potentially hateful, at least.

For this rage here would seem due to Rowling having opinions different to your own . . . ?

(Incidentally, I, alas, have hate too. It's the human condition. What we DO with our own hate and others' hate is the real question. I don't want to shut you down, anymore than I want to see Morrissey shut down.)

He's clearly male but what his mind tells him is between him and his mind and it's f*** all to do with anyone else.
I generally agree that it's personal and nobody's business but it's a topic he has talked about frequently in interviews (and also in other lyrics besides "I Am Not A Man", which I agree shouldn't be taken too literally) so it's justifiable to discuss it based on statements he made himself, at least in my opinion.

So of course y’all support transphobic people as well..I can’t with this bigotry but not surprising JK Rowling is also an fan of yours truly... but yes her opinions are problematic just as Moz, therefore I don’t have to like or agree with either of them.

If that makes me “Hateful” than so be it, at least I have decency to threat people that are different from me with the at most respect instead of using their platform to suggest therapy towards trans people

Is there any possibility, HengeBoy, that there are corners of your psyche that are phobic of other societal groupings or hateful? Maybe even with your own bigotry towards these groupings?

Or are you sure you're entirely innocent of such?

My problem here is people calling out others for "hate", trying to eliminate their rights, when they clearly have hate themselves and are not necessarily morally superior.

Incidentally, I noticed your compassion on another thread which I liked, hitting the like button.

There are only two genders. Man and woman. It is not a choice. You either have a todger or you don't I'm afraid - but feel free to dream.

I find it hilarious when virtue signallers like JK Rowling who spend their lives trying to be as woke as humanly possible suddenly put their foot in it.

I have no skin in this particular game, but there are many cultures around the world where this is not the case and I would imagine Morrissey is quite fascinated by these grey areas. He's always expressed as much. “Obviously I’m interested in sex and every song is about sex. I’m very interested in GENDER. I feel I’m a kind of prophet for the fourth sex. It sounds trite in print but it’s something close to ‘men’s liberation’ that I desire.”

This has certainly been the view held for thousands of years and held by people we consider the greatest spirits of all time, from Plato to Shakespeare to St Teresa of Avila to Gandhi. Great thinkers whether Buddhist, Christian, Atheists, Muslim, Socialist, Conservative etc have agreed about this.

It also seems fairly obvious to ordinary dopes like me for thousands of years, too.

Now, we are supposed to believe all our ancestors were stupid. And that anyone who happens to agree with them is a "hater".

There has of course also been terrible hatred towards Lesbians and Gays, causing immense suffering.

But one should stop and pause a moment before trashing the vast collected experience of humanity until the last few years ...

It still doesn't mean a third gender actually exists. Though of course people can dream and identify as fairies or snails if they so wish.

The conversation is subtler than that, but I won't waste my time with it given your track record for nuance. Consider for a moment that to some cultures, the makeup of gender identity is less a binary and more a particular combination of male and female traits, genitalia being only one variable in the equation.

I'm glad I don't come from one of those cultures, put it that way. Sounds more like your thing.
