About porn I'm out of date I guess because my brand of "woke" is not the puritan style. I think that sex work is fine and no one's business. Ideally it would be empowering but it seems, from what I've read about it, that the performers are usually exploited by the producers until they're used up. Many wind up addicted to drugs and you'd have to have a very strong sense of self not to wind up psychologically affected not just by the work but by society's views of the performers.
I knew this beautiful woman who was a stripper and she hid it from most people she knew. She thought I would judge her for it but I was proud of her. She's not responsible for the clientele. She was making good money dancing. I have had friends that were prostitutes. I don't look down on that either but I bring it up because this woman I'm talking about wasn't having sex with anyone for money. Anything "dirty" about what she was doing was strictly in the minds of the observers.
While exploitation definitely is a factor in any sort of work that is related to sex, and these businesses are filled with shady characters who are basically pimps, in an ideal world freedom to do what you want with your body, including trading sex for cash, would be something that everyone would recognize was a personal choice.
