USA Today columnist Whitney Matheson recently ran an online poll to determine the top 20 American Rock bands of all time. Pearl Jam came out on top, with readers pointing out that the Seattle group has inspired plenty of imitators, remained fan-friendly with their live bootleg series and affordable ticket prices and still making music, over a decade after Ten.
The poll results allowed for ties, so technically 23 bands made the cut. Coming in second place was Aerosmith, followed by Van Halen, The Eagles and Journey rounding out the top five. The full list can be found here.
We here at FMQB don't completely agree with the poll results, and we're sure you don't either. So we want to conduct our own poll, and see who FMQB readers think are the greatest American Rock bands in history. Is it Pearl Jam? R.E.M.? The Ramones? Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers? You tell us! (Only one band per voter please.)
(At the link there is a form to fill out to submit your vote. - The forms asks for a company name (this is a radio/advertising related site)...a clever made up, or legit company you do or don't work for should work...something related to the industry would probably be best.)
