no.4 with less than 4 thousand sales? number one sold less than
10 thousand, in the U.S.? i'm baffled, i want to see it on an
official chart like billboard.com, there's something funny going on
here.

yeah, we saw it, we just can't believe it. Anyway the US has some 200 different charts so we don't know which is it.

US Top 20 singles

Soundscan

Soundscan appears to be to do with sales. The Billboard charts are based on airplay (80%) and sales (20%)

I think.

Re: So Thank You KROQ

Then it is plausible that Morrissey is #4, if it relies on airplay and not on sales.

Thanks for the info.

Re: So Thank You KROQ

but it also goes to show that the airplay it received didn't help the single much sales wise.

Re: Soundscan is for sales only.

Soundscan is for sales -- based on actual scans from participating retailers. Don't know what percentage that means for the Billboard charts. The US charts are total baloney anyway. I'm not surprised to see that 4,000 sales of a single puts you at #4 in the U.S. - Clay Aiken is #1 with less than 10,000 and that's only because they actually market his singles.

The Billboard site shows a plethora of charts, and except for country, dance, etc. I've checked every site (about for singles only, no Morrissey sighting anywhere. I was excited when I first read it on the official site, but now.....
