Morrissey Central "UK SELL-OUTS" (June 25, 2022)

UK SELL-OUTS

Morrissey is delighted at the immediate high-speed sales for Manchester, Blackpool, Doncaster, Stockton,
Birmingham and the London Palladium. Official ticket sales have been kept between 40 to 80 pounds for all
venues. The Morrissey team is thankful to everyone for being so enthusiastic.

For all of this talk about Morrissey...take a look at Mr. Ryan Adams who is doing a tour of the states and doing it very well. I once was a fan of Ryan but, when you do that to women, I draw the line. Before you call me a hypocrite, what Morrissey did and what Ryan did are way different. Morrissey just talked, Ryan used his position and power to frighten and intimidate women into compromising positions.

The Ticketmaster "Official Platinum" overpriced seats are annoying, but it's sooo much worse in the States. They account for nearly all of the first few rows at most shows here. At the Palladium, for example, there's a smattering of Platinum seats in the Stalls. But the best seats were up for grabs at face value.
Everything is worse here – believe me. :swear

Was it Morrissey who put out the audio of words formed in his own racist mouth and spoken from his factually racist small mind?
#DerSpiegel

Also, anyone who's taken the time to listen to what M has to say in four decades of interviews, read his book, listened to his entire catalog of music, etc knows that he is not racist. It's outlandish, really, that this narrative has persisted for so long. He also responded to the Der Speigel interview with a thoughtful video message. Have you watched it?

Ticketbastards are basically making the touts look like a good deal. When I first started my gigging days, the agencies charged about 10%, and that was it. So 35p on a £3.50 ticket, and that was in the 80’s for your average well known band. I think it was even capped at about 50p.

I think he did, there was a social media post from him about it. I could be wrong.
I made the same mistake. Alain, if it was him speaking, I can’t remember, was referring to the next LP after ‘Bonfire’….which is not unreasonable considering it looks like on the surface that the great AW resurfaced after ‘Bonfire’ had been written.

Be well…..

I must say, while I live in the States…I am not jealous, but rather envious and happy for the UK. I know I have voiced my disposition over the fact that time has forced to Moz make his shows less chaotic, but I still would love to attend one.

I fear that age and the effects of travel will prevent him for doing a fairly decent road trip for us in States. Even if I could afford making a trip to Vegas, I’m not sure if I couldn’t find 10 things more useful to spend all that money it would take to see him there. But I fear a medium-size tour of hitting a couple of Western states is over.

But I am happy for you guys and gals. Either way, it’s gonna be interesting!….

Be healthy and mindful all……

"Official ticket sales have been kept started between 40 to 80 pounds for all venues' would be more accurate, as Ticketmaster are selling price inflated 'Platinum Tickets' for shows.

As Ticketmaster put it: These tickets vary in price driven by demand from fans, similar to airline tickets and hotel rooms. By using this dynamic pricing, we give fans an opportunity to safely buy official tickets for the events they love right up to the date of the show.

So a quick look shows:
Manchester hasn't sold out - Ticketmaster have increased the prices to £148.95+
Blackpool hasn't sold out - Ticketmaster have increased the prices to £222.60+
Doncaster hasnt sold out - Ticketmaster have increased the prices to £201.30 +
Birmingham hasn't sold out - Ticketmaster have increased the prices to £122.25
Palladium hasn't sold out - TIcketmaster have increased the prices to £254.40+

The only show which appears to have completely sold out in the old-fashioned use of the word (as in no tickets available from the primary seller) is Doncaster.

That said - I'm sure all venues would have sold out, were not for Ticktmaster's new price-gouging policy, which kicked in on some seats as soon as they went on sale
I got two tickets for Blackpool, £85 each, but that was directly via the Opera house site, if I went to TicketMugger the prices were around £170-180 across the board. Blackpool is nearly sold out, nearly.

Still tickets left for all dates. How long has it been now? 😂😂😂😂

Because Ticketmaster jacked up the prices almost immediately.

1x standing for Manchester was £59, then they changed it to almost £150, - not everybody will be able to or want to pay that much.

If they don’t sell it will be because of Ticketmaster’s pricing not Morrissey’s popularity.

Yep, 16 tickets left for Manchester and 8 for Blackpool but over £200 quid a ticket, f***ing scandalous what Ticketmaster are doing.

the artist's management can't mandate the 'primary' sales prices? secondary fair enough but direct from ticketmaster.... they could refuse to use ticketmaster of course,

over a million quid paid for uk tour tickets then. 'crumbling fanbase'

Oh dear - we've gone through all this before.
First off I'm pleased most of the tickets are sold as it makes a new album deal more likely. I thought Dog on a Chain was excellent - his best since the early 90s, and I'm very keen to hear Bonfire, as well as the newer Alain Whyte songs which could even be a whole album's worth by now.
Second, this is a massively smaller tour than pre-2018. Something like 20,000-25,000 tickets when he sold well over 60,000 tickets in the Jan/Feb 2018 tour, so it was always going to sell well, even with a much reduced fanbase.
Third, I've a hunch tickets will be available much more cheaply in the immediate run-up to the tour as the current price is probably artificially inflated by touts (as it is for many acts). I wouldn't advise anyone to spend £200 or whatever's currently being asked for a ticket. But we'll see about that nearer the time.
People can't seem to handle nuance round here. Either you hate or love everything about him. He remains a great pop star and a decent person. But the two year period from 2017 to 2019 he spent praising Farage and Le Pen, defending Robinson, and urging to people for a party that was even too right wing for Farage was total and utter f***ing madness.

You’re obsessed. What is your point?

Interesting take you have there.... comparing a woman abuser to a man who has an opinion. Each to their own, I suppose. 🤷‍♂️
