UK SELL-OUTS

Morrissey is delighted at the immediate high-speed sales for Manchester, Blackpool, Doncaster, Stockton,
Birmingham and the London Palladium. Official ticket sales have been kept between 40 to 80 pounds for all
venues. The Morrissey team is thankful to everyone for being so enthusiastic.

"Official ticket sales have been kept started between 40 to 80 pounds for all venues' would be more accurate, as Ticketmaster are selling price inflated 'Platinum Tickets' for shows.

As Ticketmaster put it: These tickets vary in price driven by demand from fans, similar to airline tickets and hotel rooms. By using this dynamic pricing, we give fans an opportunity to safely buy official tickets for the events they love right up to the date of the show.

So a quick look shows:
Manchester hasn't sold out - Ticketmaster have increased the prices to £148.95+
Blackpool hasn't sold out - Ticketmaster have increased the prices to £222.60+
Doncaster hasnt sold out - Ticketmaster have increased the prices to £201.30 +
Birmingham hasn't sold out - Ticketmaster have increased the prices to £122.25
Palladium hasn't sold out - TIcketmaster have increased the prices to £254.40+

The only show which appears to have completely sold out in the old-fashioned use of the word (as in no tickets available from the primary seller) is Doncaster.

That said - I'm sure all venues would have sold out, were not for Ticktmaster's new price-gouging policy, which kicked in on some seats as soon as they went on sale

Its like this , M fand that read his interviews and come sites etc etc
They are the minorty
Lots do not agree with his views, read his books or even buy his records BUT they arrive when he comes to town

Plenty 'o love
And love 'o plenty
Get ye tickets quick
Cause there won't be any!

Joesellmozza is extremly undelighted at the unimmediate release for Bonfire of teenagers. Official info of that album came along in May 2021 and I would pay 200 pounds for all the new songs. The fan-team is thankful to Morrissey for understanding.

I still think tickets prices might come right down. These days there's no real way of gauging true demand until about two weeks before an event, as there are so many digital ticket touts. Amongst many others, it happened with the big Stone Roses reunion concerts with all nights apparently selling out straight away, tickets then going for £200 on E-bay etc. A couple of weeks before the shows, they dropped way below face value to something like £50. So if you're still trying to get a ticket, my advice is wait until nearer the time, don't go and spend over £200. However, as a disclaimer, my advice is not always right!

If Ticketmaster are now charging what they like according to demand, them it makes sense that if no one buys the remaining tickets at the increased price they will gradually lower the prices again.

and to think TM were one of the businesses up
In arms about eBay allowing people to flog tickets. What they’re doing is worse. 😡

Congratulations to Morrissey!!!

So concert tickets are now like hotel or plane tickets? This is some backwards third world inflation shit.

It's smart to get ahead of the media. Create your own story! Morrissey has always been wise enough to do that.

"You are what you tell people you are. They will believe it!"

Ticketmaster created Stub Hub so they could get a piece of the secondary market away from eBay. It's all greed. Yes, TM has had a policy of changing the prices for premium seats. Sporting events also have been doing this for years. If a hot team comes into town the prices are much higher for that game then a team that is worst in the division.

Not quite, because ‘official’ vendors (in this case Gigs and Tours) will be stopped from doing it by the artists’ management teams. But yes, when ticket sellers became increasingly regulated you could’ve been forgiven for thinking this profiteering is something they’d prevent—instead it’s been helped because now the plod crack down on touting outside venues, whilst licensed agencies are free to do as they please.
