TTY: Universal Music, the approach made to David Joseph, since denied by David Joseph

I've read it over and over and I don't see a denial. Just plans for the future and the fact they aren't releasing any songs by any artist concerning Paris. All John is saying is that he thinks it's a good idea, but he needs to know where the proceeds will go and he needs to hear from Morrissey and not Boz.

It's not a denial.

TTY isn't his site. And why would he open himself up to such crap from people anyway? Even now when it pretty obvious that Boz was the source of the latest posts. Let's all bang on at Morrissey about it, eh?

If you are seriously suggesting Boz Boorer acted without clearing this with his boss then you have a very myopic view of his terms of employment. Forced to wear clownish stage outfits and to defend the indefensible blaming of Kristeen Young, it is very clear that this 'request' originates from Morrissey via his hireling, Boz, thus the need to reply via a Solicitor.

The grotesque opportunistic demand for a NO 1 RECORD! off the backs of 130 dead from a terrorist attack is the nadir of Morrissey's public meltdown, enhanced in it's depravity by his unrevoked abusive comments about the Oslo terrorist attacks. If Morrissey wishes to explain how and why he allows hired backing band musicians to negotiate his releases and PR with his previous employer, Universal, that's his choice. Given that it's clear Morrissey doesn't own the licence to this song and wouldn't be foregoing any profits from publishing, the only question left is why he chose to issue abusive responses to Universal Records very generous offer. Anyone who thinks this debacle is explicable other than as a naked attempt by Morrissey to troll the Paris Attacks for profit and to enhance his Public Image has a LOT of explaining to do. And we still await the 'explanation' for TTY linking to a website that claims the Paris Attacks were staged. Was that Morrissey? Julia? Or Boz/Borrissey? I think the ravings about bombing circuses is beyond any rational discussion other than in Morrissey's inner clique. Morrissey has exceeded himself this time and it is exactly as predicted by myself, Benny, Barleycorn and others. Sit back and enjoy as he descends into the abyss but, unless you're part of his Cult, don't go down with him.

"Why are you doing nothing? There is no other song in modern music that aptly supports the people of Paris."

Ummm...

"I'm throwing my arms around Paris because nobody wants my love, nobody needs my love. Yes, you've made yourself plain. Yes you've made yourself very plain."

How does that aptly support the people of Paris?

Clearly he is a contemptible despicable opportunist. There are no depths to which morrissey would sink in order to be in the press and public eye.

Boz isn't even allowed to take a dump without his employer signing off on it. Why do you think Solomon had to leave the band?

And furthermore, it's not as though "I'm Throwing My Arms Around Paris" is out-of-print, hard-to-find, rare, or otherwise deleted. If the song is such a perfect tribute, any radio station that wishes to play it is certainly free to do so. And then, any listeners moved by the song can obtain the song with about three clicks of a mouse.

Of course, as pointed out many times before, the lyrics aren't exactly fitting for the situation. At. All.

Such a shame, really. Makes me stop being a fan after nearly 30 years. ''So why are you still here, hater?'' - comes the question. Well, after many fiascos you cannot defend Morrissey. It's all his fault and deserves all the criticism here.

Boz is just a puppet on a string to Moz... that's how he's managed to stay close all these years while the others have fallen away. We've seen it publicly many times now but it is never any less cringeworthy.

It's now very clear that Boz Boorer is an enabler who lacks the guts and spine to stand up to Morrissey. He is just a showroom dummy to recycle Clash riffs and wear 'f*** Morrissey-Solo.com' t-shirts. Does he also agree with Morrissey's views on the Oslo Terrorist massacre? Does he eat chicken? Boz Boorer is now clearly as morally deranged as Morrissey if he thinks he can demand a NO 1 RECORD! off the back of the Paris Attacks whilst ignorning previous outrageous remarks about the Oslo Attacks. Shameless opportunistic careerism.

It would have cost Universal Music virtually nothing to re-issue 'Paris', and what is more, it would have been both fitting AND shown the Universal in good light. If it had been a Sam Smith song, you can bet your bottom dollar that it would be in the shops RIGHT NOW in every format going. Instead, David Joseph refused to re-issue ITMAAP purely on the basis that it is a song by Morrissey; a man who has publicly slagged off Joesph's bezzy mate, Steve Barnett. Joseph's offer to perhaps let Morrissey release the song through a third party is simply him taking the piss. Joseph knows FULL WELL that A) Morrissey doesn't have a record company to issue it for him, and B) That as a self release it would go completely unnoticed a la Kiss Me A Lot.

Morrissey has every right to feel pissed off with Universal, and must be wondering just where to turn. At least he can rely on his fans for backing and support..... oh, actually, he can't, well not around here at any rate.

Carry on slagging him off you vile c**ts, but don't any of you dare moan once he's gone. Actually, of course you won't! Remind me again, WHY do you come here? WHY? What is the point?

Trust me, I will dance on his grave if I get to outlive Morrissey. He has been revealed as a truly evil man by his trolling of Oslo and animal abuse in China. Trolling the Paris Attacks is just more of the same but this time it's blown up in his hate-contorted face. Morrissey=Vile Troll

Poor Boz, this has shades of the 'I hate to throw wood on an already blazing fire but I am afraid I cannot sit back and watch this slander' message he was forced to post under his name after Morrissey threw KY under the tour bus. The poor sod is obviously being dictated to, as the egotistical style "Any other artist would be number 1 with this song RIGHT NOW" prose style is clearly in narcissistic Moz speak - this is the same sort of language Morrissey used in that leaked email raging to the record execs at the chart performance of 'The Youngest Was the Most Loved', rather than the affable Boz.

Universal's letter seems like the very height of reasonable and politeness, and undeserving of Morrissey's public bitching. His leaking of it just makes him look a fool. Not want to release any tribute records in light of one of their staff actually being killed is fair enough, as is the offer to arrange to license it back to Morrissey for him to release it via someone else.

Why, Lord - oh why - is Morrissey SUCH a tool these days?

A concise, excellent summary. Morrissey has always been a tool, it's just taken this long for many to realise it.

Imagine (or, technically Working Class Hero, which is catalogued as the a-side) is number 2 in France based on just that process. All the radio stations agreed to play it simultaneously as a tribute. I'm not aware that Yoko Ono needed to tell anyone to go f*** themselves to make it happen, either.

Hello Rat, how's the tail dragging?

Boz isn't even allowed to take a dump without his employer signing off on it. Why do you think Solomon had to leave the band?

moz wrote but signed off as boz. boz is not even allowed to think thru an email FFS.
the peeps at universal probably have moz as totally insane. having his guitar player flunky email the record co.
LOL
and what happened to the letter from Russel the solicitor?

I agree with the thoughts expressed by hand in glove, Harsh Truth, Irregular Regular and others. Instead of exposing the supposed villainy of Universal, all this back and forth has really done is make Morrissey and co. seem petty and opportunistic. With every installment of this ridiculous feud, the supposed altruistic nature of Morrissey's intentions grows increasingly dubious. The letter from Reid plainly states Universal would likely be willing to license the song back to Morrissey for re-release through a third party with proceeds going to relevant charities. This may not be what Morrissey originally had in mind, but it is in no way a denial. I struggle to think why this option wouldn't be good enough and worth pursuing for someone genuinely interested in paying a tribute to the victims of the attacks in Paris. He used a third party, Atom Factory, to release the Kiss Me a Lot single. What's the problem now? And why the peculiar emphasis on chart position in the original letter?

Maybe more letters will materialize, letters in which a Universal spokesperson explicitly denies any kind of release or licensing to Morrissey, but these letters don't incriminate Universal, they help their case. Morrissey, on the other hand, continues to dig himself deeper, as we now have two instances of Universal apparently offering to release the single that have gone ignored in favor of drumming up controversy with a needless smear campaign, capitalizing on a tragedy to do so.

Morrissey is petty and opportunistic. There was no mass Social Media eruption to have this absurd song as a memorial to the attacks. If there was, it would have charted as it is easily available for purchese online. What Morrissey wanted was to place his ugly face centre stage with the marketing might of Universal behind him, purely to further his sad campaign to appear relevant, contemporary and thus deserving of a new record contract with a Big 4 label. His ludicrous attempts to pass a festival crowd of 12,000 as purely his being another part of this nonsense. The only charity in Morrissey's mind was himself.

Instead of taking on board Universal's polite, measured response he goes off the deep end. Due to his confirmation bias he only sees Conspiracy. He has always understood that the public mostly only purchase music with a huge marketing budget behind it (other than Adele) and his snipings during The Smiths about Rough Trade, the move to a major label all falls into place once you accept he is a ruthless careerist businessman, not an Artist.

Morrissey is in a hole but he'll keep digging because he isn't tethered to consensual reality and there is nobody in his employ who has the balls to stand up to him. Let him dig his own reputational grave. After Oslo and his comments on Chinese people being a 'sub-species' nobody can be surprised of yet more proof of his moral disarray. Morrissey is simply nothing more than a Vile Troll. All that remains is to explore and explain how he got away with this nonsense for decades. Over to you, Benny!

agree

do what you do Moz

They key statement here is "Any other artist would be number 1 with this song RIGHT NOW."

Moz just wants to top the charts, even if it takes the blood of 130 terrorism victims to get there.

A suitable epitaph for his career failure. It will look good on his grave headstone alongside "Morrissey=VileTroll"

Boz isn't even allowed to take a dump without his employer signing off on it. Why do you think Solomon had to leave the band?

To preserve his sanity. To escape the Cult of Morrissey. Or perhaps he saw an early draft of 'List of The Lols' and realised there was only so much time to get off the sinking ship. It is to his credit that he left. One hopes he was paid well to sign the Non-Disclosure Agreement about Dear Leader Morrissey. It will be fun when Morrissey croaks and those agreements are null and void.

probably everyone concerned is trying to figure out if boz is a typo for moz.
LOL
who the f is boz? it has to be moz probably a typo.

boz demanding, on behalf of himself and a set of similarly unknown musicians that universal reissue paris in several formats including vinyl.....LOL

while wily fearless huma leader-and after this thing with boz the envoy we know for a fact that he is huma-percolates in a hot tub sipping veggie vodka calculating in his devious mind the profit from the never to be released paris hit single.LOL
if i was moz id put a paper bag over my head in public from now on.

The interesting issue is how his Audience now come to terms with the fact that Morrissey is indeed a Cult Conspiracy Loon and that many of his songs both with The Smiths and Solo appear to be barely concealed ravings which reached their dire apogee in 'List of The Lulz' and his outbursts about Oslo, Paris and China as a 'sub-species'. The songs which I can personally still listen to without LOLing at his Crank-Fraud conspiracy lunacy is shrinking and, of course, ITMAAP is now in the dustbin along with obvious Conspiracy Candidates like YJHEIYB. Thank god for digital media so we can all curate our own playlists from the garbage bin of his career. The signs were there all along but it's taken until now for many to realise they were feeding Morrissey's mental illness by being 'fans' rather than discerning members of an Audience. f*** Morrissey. Morrissey=VileTroll. If it wasn't for the horror of Paris, this would be funny but TJIFA. Etc

Morrissey's attempts to censor this site and his harassment of DavidT now make total sense. He can order Boz and other hirelings to do his wishes but he cannot force The Internet to stop probing his Cult and his unretracted comments about Oslo.

Antisocial, narcissistic, paranoid, with a huge amount of erogenous masochism which is taking its toll now.

Dear Universal Records,

Cheers, Conrad here. I am the official veggie pizza slicer for Mr Morrissey and his band, the latter comprised of Mr Boz Boorer and several other unknown musicians. I would like to demand on our behalf, and on behalf of the staff at the five star pestana hotel in brazil, the 12ooo festival punters in Chile, the gent from the Blure Rose Society, Little Joe D from the Warhol movies, the staff at TTY, that you at once and without ado re issue the Morrissey track that has Paris in the title. Be aware that this is a a serious inquiry-dont let the rumors that I am forced to wear knickers in the performance of my duties-confuse you into thinking otherwise.
Please be advise that the preferred formats are: 12 and 7 inch vinyl with trimmed silk sleeves, Cd single with bonus cuts of of Adele and Sheerhan tracks to bump sales, and a deluxe download priced at 5 quid per.
We also demand a video to accompany the release to be directed by Mr Boz but paid by Universal. Video will be of Morrissey dressed as Napoleon Bonaparte returning to Paris after a heroic escape from vulgar Elaba, only to be confronted by the repressive forces led by a team of record executives led by David Joseph himself.

Attentively Yours,
Conrad, official veggie pizza slicer and taster for Morriseey LTD
