TTY: Third Reich 'royals' ...

Third Reich 'royals' ... - true-to-you.net
19 July 2015

You cannot possibly believe that the British 'royal family' are (and were) beholden to the Hitler regime? Here is the front of today's Sun newspaper - UK 'royals' (including your Queen and her mother) saluting the Third Reich ... while British boys died on the front line to protect England ...
Although the British press are predictably doing their best to excuse this photograph (which also includes the 'beloved' Queen Mother) as mere 'play-acting', we must wonder how many other British families have similar shots from this period, and we must ask ourselves how the families of the boys slaughtered in the Second World War would feel if they knew that the future Queen and her mother found the Nazi salute to be so hysterical. In additional futile defence of 'the Queen', the press are reminding us how 'the Queen' visited a German concentration camp this year (although her only comment was how unimaginable the terror was ... no rage or tears), and the press are incapable of wondering why it took 'the Queen' 60 years to visit a concentration camp.
Oh, England, oh England ... please wake up.

Don't go to the oh "Americans think Europe is a country" crap. I said the "the rest of Europe".
Yes you did, and then you said "This proves that Europe is still a country full of Nazis", but don't worry it's the "So all the Americans that died trying to save you Brits and the rest of the Europe died for nothing?", and the "No wonder why the Germans thought they could take over Europe. Thank God I live in the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave and Kickball is a sport for women and children." parts of you're post that show you up as a prick.

You could also say that the reactions from people are equally predictable. So, what? I, for one, don't know what the fuss is again and again with his remarks about the Royal Family. For me it's perfectly "in-character". I would only be upset if Moz suddenly begins to embrace the Royal Family and accepts a knighthood or something.
True. A "Royal Family" is an absurd anachronism that should be railed against at every opportunity.

When the Queen of England was taught by an uncle to give a Nazi salute as a child, joke or not, it's relevant. Their position is based on the fact that they are special people. Although it's different in different cultures the general idea is that the "king" is appointed by God or related to God. It's absolutely insane and meant to stop people questioning their authority, much like the position of Pope.

Morrissey has some opinions from time to time that I may find frivolous but this is not one of them and I'm surprised that he's being criticized in this case. If nothing else let him enjoy his "I told you so" moment, and bask in the reactions from the royals. Serious historians are now asking that correspondence between Hitler and the royals be made available for study and this is not an unreasonable request. They do not hold any special privileges they are not granted and I'm disappointed that many of you seem to support the royals over Morrissey.

Oh for goodness sake. The Queen was aged seven when this photo was taken. Seven. A child. Her uncle, the future king, Edward VIII was a selfish, vain, inconsiderate man. Deemed unfit by his father King George V to be King. A feeling shared by other members of the English government. Edward VIII was a little worm of man. He did have sympathetic leanings towards Hitler and Nazism. Hitler was keen to befriend Edward VIII and this happened more once the king abdicated and when he was left in exile. The rest of the royal family hated the rise of Nazism. You only have to read a few biographies to find this.

In this home film it's quite clear that the family are just joking around. Playing up for uncle EdwardVIII. Nothing more. They're taking the piss with the salute. Morrissey's pathological hatred for the royal family is unbalanced. He's quickly going the way of Bobby Fisher and his pathological hatred of Jews.

Of course the Queen was just seven years old and didn't personally support the Nazi regime BUT that is not the point. She doesn't just represent herself but the whole crown. So, she has to address EVERYTHING which is connected to the crown PAST AND PRESENT. Someone mentioned the pope and the sex abuse scandal among the Catholic Church. He, personally, didn't abuse children but he had to address it and he had to apologize for it. That's my opinion.

as morrissey already asks in his post, how many family pictures of that period showing ordinary british people doing the hitler salute do you know? the royals are a special case, it seems.

This is not a message defending Morrissey as I don't feel he needs defending but after a quick scan of these comments I see some of you see this as a "non story" or couldn't care less about the royals, whilst this is fine please understand that some of us do care. I hate them. Everyone I know hates them. We don't respect them or anything they stand for. We don't feel we need them, we most certainly don't want them and we are sick of having them constantly shoved down our throats. This seems to be an extremely popular opinion regarding this royal family in the uk, Morrissey also shares it, you think he should stop.....I don't.

at least here in germany we react oversensitively to any nazi symbols nowadays for good reasons and not only because they are forbidden and a criminal offence (unlike in the usa where neonazis can openly show hakenkreuze and found neonazi parties). Showing a hitler salute or wearing a nazi uniform on a costume party is generally not belittled as a peccadillo (hope that's the right word) but rather seen as a sign of utter stupidity and ignorance or as open support for the neonazi agenda. this is also the case if it's "only" historical footage showing those in power who before that had not clearly been associated with nationalsocialism. being in a public office with contact abroad, the royals of course have to address this video footage and apologize, or at least explain the context in which these pictures were taken. and of course morrissey has the right to address this topic on tty, and it's also his right to do so whenever he wants to express his concerns. the only thing i would comment on is the word "while" in his post as in 1933 ww2 had not started then. in the 1930s britain's appeasement politics towards nazi germany already had many opponents among british people. seemingly not among the royals.
Hitler had supporters in the US, also, such as Henry Ford. It's relevant to understanding the whole picture. Thank you for sharing your perspective.

This is a non-story in the UK because the story has been killed. Stone dead. It doesn't fit with the cosy lie that we are force-fed about this family. The real story is why no one is allowed access to the royal archives to find out what really went on before the Second World War with regards to this family's flirtation with Hitler. And why Prince George, the Duke of Kent, the current Queen's uncle, and yonger brother of Edward VIII and Geoge VI, was flying to Iceland with a briefcase stuffed full of Swedish Kroner handcuffed to his wrist when his plane crashed mysteriously in 1942. A story that is barely mentioned by the British media. They didn't mention that in 'The King's Speech'.

Re: TTY: Third Reich 'royals' ...

Morrissey should have kept his mouth shut on this. It's a non story in the UK and the Sun have been lambasted for running with it, no doubt there will be a couple of lines in tomorrow's rag pointing out Morrisseys views.
What did they think they could achieve though by running this story ?
It doesn't sell very well in Liverpool after its disgusting coverage of the Hillsborough disaster.
I would like to urge people in the UK to join forces with the people of Liverpool and boycott this rag trash daily SCUM.

Morrissey citing The Scum as a source.... Oh dear....

The Royal Family are vile, hardly surprising considering their bloodline and Edward Viii's known flirtation with Nazism. However we've all done foolish things as kids.

Perhaps Morrissey should mention such luminaries as Lord Mountbatten, child abuser extraordinaire

To hold a child responsible for being groomed into giving a Nazi salute by an adult relative is extremely silly. If evidence emerges that Elizabeth Windsor went on to secretly support the Nazi regime in any way, then that would be A Big Story. This isn't, other than to cause apoplexy at the Daily Mail, who openly supported fascism in the 30s.

"saluting the Third Reich ... while British boys died on the front line to protect England ..."

*scratches head* The photo was taken in 1933. Where, exactly, was this 'front line' where 'British boys' died to protect England? He is either too lazy or stupid to cross-reference his assertions with fact. Imagine if he had to write a scientific paper? LOL! We knew this was coming, we know it will be the backdrop on stage for London/Hull. But shoe-horning reality to fit random snippets of data and bake a Conspiracy Theory isn't a viable strategy for anyone who wants to be part of Consensual Reality. Morrissey is a long, long way from Consensual Reality. He thinks that means he's a Radical Artist, rather than just a paranoid eejit.

Please note that Morrissey has never lambasted the Irish for failing to 'wake up' to the facts of Taoiseach Eamonn DeValera's sympathy note and signing of a book of condolence when Hitler died. That would disturb his simplistic narrative of Ireland, a narrative which he uses to add another chip to his shoulder so he can load on the 800 Years of British Oppression victim script onto his woes.

Its refusal to resist Hitler still shames Ireland

Morrissey isn't going to address this topic as to do so would be genuinely controversial and wouldn't get the rabble singalong in Dublin. He's an absolute wanker. He rants about the British 'royals' yet never mentions the royal families of The Netherlands, Sweden and Denmark when he visits those countries. Why is that? And why has he failed to play Thailand, where lese majeste laws mean that open criticism of the Thai Royal Family is treason. Why doesn't he go to Bangkok and rant about the British 'royals' and then put up some insulting visuals about the King of Thailand? Because his fat white ass would be thrown in the Bangkok Hilton and he knows it. It's all nonsense, it's just another part of his snakeoil Radical Chic schtick. Animal rights are claimed but he's a Cheese-Eating Uddersucking Vegetarian. Republicanism is claimed but there's no public record of any support for English Republicanism even if there is for Irish terrorists who bombed Brighton. And on and on and on....this man is a wanker.

I detest all that inherited bloodline privilege means, but to blame a 7 year old child for being groomed into a Nazi salute by a disturbed relative is repellent. But, who's surprised by this any more?

Rather than discussing the antics of a seven year old child eighty-two years ago, I'd be more interested in Morrissey's views on how the Irish Republic under De Valera, while maintaining a pretence of neutrality colluded with and aided Nazi Germany against Britain and the Allies.

How they deliberately barred Jewish families fleeing Hitler from the Republic, and how they treated Irishmen who fought for the Allies against the Nazis as pariahs when they returned home.

Morrissey might also want to comment on the fact that the only country in the world to send official condolences to the German people after Hitler's death was... the Republic of Ireland.

Ireland was safe haven for Nazi war criminals:

Tricky thing history. The deeper you delve it gets harder not to notice that everyone is covered in shit to one degree or another. When it comes to the Nazis the Paddy's were up to their necks.

More examples of the Republic of Ireland and their friends the Nazis available upon request.

I also would like him to address this topic. However, I take offence at the use of the Tricolour with a Nazi Swastika. Whilst De Valera was clearly delusional, many Irish people died in support of the Allied efforts to stop Hitler. Abusing their national flag in this way demeans their memory and that of every Irish person who suffered under the economic madness of De Valera and were forced to emmigrate, including my parents. I think it's imperative that Ireland stops telling itself comic book 'rebel' narratives that demonise the 'Brits' thus allowing bombs in Birmingham pubs, but I also think there is much of value and courage in Irish history which deserves respect.

Morrissey's pub smug simplicities as expressed on 'Irish Blood, English Heart' are EXACTLY what you'd expect from a Plastic Paddy Brit. He berates the 'royals' yet ignores De Valera and the rest of the Irish cranks. 'Taoiseach' means warlord. Charles Haughey was setting himself up as King of Ireland, he robbed the country blind and helped the IRA set up. But you won't hear Morrissey singing a song about what useless bastards Haughey and Devil Eire were.

No one is "holding the Queen responsible" and we all know she was a child. But it's not something that should be censored. If it's not a big deal why go to such lengths to defend it? It's a photo for you to draw your own conclusions.
