TTY: Charles: the unspeakable in pursuit of the inedible

Charles: the unspeakable in pursuit of the inedible - true-to-you.net

Excerpt:

The power elite usually defines an anarchist as a law-breaking radical from the lower orders. Interestingly, the most anarchic and non-cohesive behavior in modern Britain comes from the inner circle of the power elite, those too ennobled to bother about law; the case of Lord Janner, Leon Brittan, Harry Battenberg allegedly killing endangered hen harriers just for fun (predictably no charge brought against him, and so on - you know the drill). This week it was revealed that Charles Battenberg (you are ordered to call him Prince Charles, for he comes from a self-elected monarchy to whom the British people have never consented) has endorsed the 'culling' (meaning 'killing') of badgers, as he commented to Tony Blair:
...

cause he is a singer not columbo

He knew. They all knew. Google "Johnny Rotten Jimmy Savile." He says it was widely known in 1978. Everyone going to Top of the Pops knew what Jimmy Savile was.

Are you saying that he did not know, but that if he did he should have said something? Or are you saying you don't care? I think it's more the latter.

i`m saying he did not care. Why should he, did anyone else report Saville in the 70s and 80s?. Morrissey is not Superman( He drinks lavender tea for Feck-sake), he`s not obliged to have a higher code of moral than the rest of us. He is just a singer trying to make through the day. Why all the pressure on Morrissey to interven. No wonder he does all the TTY posts people demand him to save the damn world.

i've no idea who j. savile is/was.

now, you tell us why is he important to you?

The US government is corrupt and supports exploitation. The mainstream media, such as US Magazine, publishes photos of Brits camping out waiting for royal babies to pop out. They're just uggo breeders like any low class breeder. Keep telling them off Moz! Go Moz go!!!!

Here are some good quality blogs:

armoryoftherevolution.wordpress.com

vegantownusa.wordpress.com

This is so well written. I don't know why the USA even allows this commonwealth to keep their puppet "monarchy". I guess it's like how America let another commonwealth (Japan) keep their emperor.

i`m saying he did not care. Why should he

Well, judging from his comparison of eating meat to being a paedophile, it doesn't seem he would approve, and you've got it all wrong about fans wanting him to save the world. A lot of fans wish he would shut up about the royals, vegetarianism, and his other causes. He is the one who decided to take on the world because it made great interviews and sold records.

That was his doing. So why didn't he talk about Savile? And you think it's because he doesn't care, and you're probably right. But why not? Because you can talk about the royals forever and they're going to ignore it, but Savile wouldn't have ignored it. He'd have done what he could to end Morrissey's career.

But I'm glad you switched from saying he didn't know to saying he didn't care. I don't respect your opinion but I respect your honesty.

It's not that Jimmy Savile as a person is especially important to me but he was a powerful paedophile, and what he represents is important to me and should be to anyone. You may be aware that this is an ongoing issue, paedophile rings in government, police, education, and entertainment circles working together to rape and occasionally murder children. I think it would be important to anyone with a conscience and a voice. Bigmouth strikes again? I guess bigmouth strikes selectively.

you have got a point here. Morrissey is pretty safe when it comes to the Royals , the don`t give a toss. I think Morrissey was informed that savile was off limits and Morrissey did fear the consequences. But even if Morrissey was safe from savile i honestly don`t belive Morrissey would have done anything. Animal rights and the Royals are morrisseys safe houses he is know for that and he knows it gets the spotlights on him.

also helping humans does not mix with Morrissey that well.

yet they attack him if he does anything that goes against his beliefs. Say if he eats cheese or hangs out with someone like that designer he had his picture taken with.

people won`t rest until he is dead.

I'm not convinced Morrissey wrote that. The style is wrong.

It's the same old blather about the same old topics, but unless he's been to remedial English classes recently it has been ghost written.

There are fans who think he owes them something. I think it's a form of some sort of illness. But the point is that in their own minds they feel they have entered into some sort of contract with him by collecting his music, so when he disappoints them they take it personally.

The bit about eating cheese is actually legitimate in my opinion. It does show some inconsistency. It's no more my business whether he eats cheese than it is who he might be sleeping with, and I don't really care. Generally I do support his remarks and I know for a fact he has raised awareness. But he must be aware of the difference between being vegetarian and being vegan, and it seems he doesn't care. So it's not hard to call that hypocrisy. When people just want to pick at him it's a pretty easy target. But they aren't mad at him for eating cheese. It's just an excuse.

Thank you for a good discussion.

Morrissey portrays himself as a fount of all knowledge, and an arbiter of taste and decency, so when it is revealed he is as hypocritical as anyone else he understandably gets, and often deserves, fierce criticism.

What is the point of Morrissey in 2015? He is actually less relevant today than his arch-nemesis Madonna. I never expected Morrissey to end his career like this, dragging himself to one horse towns across three continents. I used to have real sympathy for his plight as lone voice in the wilderness, but it's clear it has all been of his own making.

He created this persona, which defined the 80s in particular for many of us. He ploughed that furrow for three decades, but now the act is looking tired - exhausted would be a better word - and TTY statements only serve to underline how out of touch with the modern world he really is.

Sir Bradley Wiggins was on Desert Island Discs on Friday morning and chose The Queen Is Dead as one of his tracks. It's still as powerful as the day it was released and you'd need a heart of stone not to marvel at its brilliance. Fast forward thirty years and Morrissey returns, once more, to Prince Charles's myriad inadequacies, but not to skewer him in song with sublime biting wit and bile, but just another in a long line of miserable "will this do?" press releases.

I'm aware this might sound harsh, but when Morrissey dies I think many will breathe a sigh of relief. He's become that farting old Labrador you've had for twenty years who you love for the memories, but has shit on the kitchen floor one too many times and outlived his welcome. You don't want to put him down because you remember running along the beach with him when he was a puppy, but you sort of hope you'll call him for breakfast in the morning and he'll be dead in his basket. Then you can get the shovel out of the shed and take the long walk to the bottom of the garden, and afterwards wander back to the house with rheumy eye humming This Charming Man.

actually i would have been crushed. I know that you mean that when Morrissey passes over (knock on Wood) we will be spared of the pain of watching him bury himself deeper. But the fact is that what he did with the smiths and in the 90s, will never diminish in value or power whatever he might do. Yes Morrissey has become less elegant as the years pass but his core never changes. His past his legacy shows us what it is that he means.

Morrissey, during his youth did like any other teenager have a sense of invincibility (i`m pretty sure he at one point during the eighties thought he was made to change the World and no one could see it like he does) , what he said was right. All this teenage sensibility, plus his intelligence, charisma and great talant, got the world to listen to him. But it also robbed him of the ability to show different sides of himself. So he became a caricature. As the years passed that view of him became more cemented to his public image and exactly as you implied, he has gotten himself into a situation where he has to keep the caricature of him as strong as possible even though his heart is not in it. Which is valid, you grow up and you understand that life works differently than you though. You can give it your best but you will not change it. We are still bound to the laws of life as we are to the law of physics

He has become a prisoner , he does not deserve this. But you have to admit that people love to rag on him, could it be jealousy, the fact that they obsess about him so much and he does not even know about their existance or something else i don`t know.

Oh Johnny that was so well written in so many many ways and I have to agree I never thought the end would be so crass/naff.
Thanks for such a great piece of writing.

Clear to me Moz is just another upset UKIP voter and has every right to be. It is fascinating when the so called democracy moves the goal posts as soon as some upcomer party actually become a threat. I do not share his view though that the royals are not capable of intellectual thoughts because that is not the problem or THEIR problem. The problem is that they are forced to continue royal traditions and I think we all need to realise they do not live great posh lives because they have to be here, there and everywhere.

People are astonished at what footballers earn per week not month like the rest of us yet people never realise that footballers and royals do not determine how they live their lives as they are owned by people who dictate what they must do and when.

Diana tried to rebel against that order of things and look what happened. We simply cannot do what Moz does and blame everything on a few people who are only the symbols of a system that is one part of what people go to the elections for. If people realised what their vote stands for nobody or very few would turn up on voting day.

Again, nobody in the REAL world makes such a fuss about every tty post than people on this website. After all nobody is forced to read it. As for myself and many others (including Moz), we realize one day that we can't juggle too many balls at once and therefore decide to focus on one issue and of course it will be the one which is the most important to us. In chosing specifically one issue we are condamned to repeat ourselves but that is just something we have to accept along the line. It's unavoidable and in Moz' case people would complain all the same now if his issue of choice would have been the fight against poverty in Africa. Another thing which I can't stand is when everyone throws in the wealth of a famous person in every single argument against them. I think it's a very cheap shot and not needed. Everyone has the right to comment on issues. And I actually find it quite sad that the public often makes it so difficult for famous wealthy people to comment on things and therefore leave them somewhat trapped. If they don't say or do anything it's said they don't care and*can't be bothered BECAUSE they are wealthy. If they say or do something it's said it's easy for them or they wouldn't know BECAUSE they are wealthy. Re: Savile; It's a huge difference between "knowing" in the sense of everyone whispers it and because of that decide for myself that it is the truth and the "knowing" which actually means "evidence" and which is needed to report it to the police. Evidence would be: I have seen it with my own eyes or I know someone who has seen it / I am a victim or I know a victim.

Most artists decline over time. It is the nature of growing old. What is your point? Are we all supposed to hate Morrissey now because his writing isn't up to the standard of The Queen Is Dead? No one is asking you to accept every word of every utterance that comes forth from the Moz-head. He's just putting opinions out there. In the UK 99% of coverage of the monarchy is fawning and obsequious. I am sure Moz is fully aware that his statements on TTY will barely get reported and will have limited impact - but if only 1 or 2 people read that statement and start to think differently from how the media tell them to think - isn't that a good thing?
