Well, I have read it all on this board or anything on the internet regarding Morrissey. "Interrogated by the FBI" lol!! ha ha ha! insane, top mental, rugbish. Morrissey is the last topic or person the FBI would be worried about. Morrissey is about as American as Apple Pie and Root Beer but you Brits, Euros, South Americans, and Kazakastainsians can't see this. Morrissey has every character trait an American has, lives in an LA mansion, and lays out in the sun on his deck and gets a sun tan. Wake up! He also said "bring me the head of Elton John on a platter, in this case meat would not be murder" I would think James Bond 007 would want to be "interrogating" Morrissey over everything he has said about the "royal family" and the old lady president of England.

He wrote "America is not the World" (on the beach in Malibu) and "if the USA doesn't bomb you" lyric in far off places to get you Brits and Euros to buy tickets. This is also when he was touring Eastern Europe, Russia, and Transylvania where he needed to sell tickets. When all you non-Americans saw "The Importance of Being Morrissey" and saw his real lifestyle in LA, it upset you, so he needed to do something. His done with this now, and he just said forget them. I just won't tour "the uk" anymore but you people still love him. Europe and South America is next. Morrissey for President!

This, to me, is the most depressing thing about all this. Look, I don't like the monarchy, and would be quite happy to see them replaced. Yes, they are arseholes because they hunt. But, despite Morrissey insisting they are some kind of dictatorship, THEY HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO POWER AT ALL. They are ornamental figureheads. Nothing would change if the Queen was replaced by a President, other than someone else taking the job under a different name.

And yet, Morrissey goes on about them so much, he obviously has a total obsession about them. It can't be healthy to focus so much energy on people who don't matter. He must wake up in a cold sweat, screaming in the middle of the night, so great is his hatred of the Royals. And for what? They don't f***ing matter. It's like getting worked up over plankton. Get a f***ing grip, Morrissey. No one else cares about the Royal Family - why do you?

i dont imagine morrissey thinks they have any real power, other than that which their privilege and their special status gets them (people for example might listen to their proclamations the same respect someone might listen to something the church says). and why do they have this special status and this privilege? because of a tradition that is STEEPED in cruelty and oppression. so i can imagine, when you start really thinking about it, it is quite maddening to see that a family that has terrorized and dominated and destroyed the quality of life for people for centuries still continues to exist as figures of esteem. they are there on a faulty premise. you remove that, and they have no business being there. surely it wouldnt be impossible to oust their useless asses and force them to get real jobs? why is it? because of the delight it gives small people to see them in parades (my grandma, having been selected with her husband to escort the queen and prince philip when they came on one of their visits being one of them, lol)? or to mull excitedly over what kate wore at what function? is it really worth it for that? shouldnt there be a precedent that people whose ancestors created and perpetuated their fortunes and names on terror and oppression and death get nothing that they havent rightfully earned in their own lives?

I don't understand the logic of criticizing the lifestyle of a man who enjoys the money earnedd by his own personal work and his own art. Like we all as working people do. He is not living on your taxes, he doesn't exert any coercion in any of us to force us to buy his music, it's our choice to go to a concert or not to go. I think it's a merit, living a privileged life in a privileged place, that someone like him sings, writes and talks about some issues. You think he writes some lyrics to make people buy more tickets. I don't know if that's the case, sometimes it could be the contrary. Some people don't like that and it seems he doesn't care.
Anyway, if he despises the privileges of the monarchy, that doesn't mean he has to make a vow of poverty. Most of the times, good working people (like me) are happy when someone like them is successful and enjoys a good and comfortable life in a five star hotel BY HIS OWN MERITS.

Are you referring to the house on Sweetzer? If you think it's a mansion, then you must be living in a shoebox. Actually it is a very modest house for LA. I am sure you are proud of him residing in your country, but don't fool yourself. He is as English as bangers and mash or spotted dick.

from reading bennys updates and watching how now we have passed day 8 and moz still has been unable to come up with the cash, cannot but conclude hes in financial straits. or to put in another way, broke. nobody bit on the splendor-ed tour of several islands.
8 more days to come with what at one time would have been a measly 10 grand.

yes, morrissey has the most superb facial expressions! i really like interviews of his though where the interviewer is funny and brings out that great, fantastic underlying layer of humour that morrissey has. i really feel sometimes that morrissey is perhaps the funniest person in the world, but in such a graciously reserved way, not a "look at me, im funny!" kind of way. like he doesnt have the need to be recognized as funny that most people who are funny tend to have.

yes, something that always makes me laugh when i think of it is how at a concert i went to before he played this one song--i cant remember which--he said "we rarely play this song.... because nobody likes it"

a lot of the time i think people tend to mistake his self-deprecating humour for arrogance. it's like no, he's not being arrogant, he's being funny, duh.. i dont understand how people can be so thick.
