This was really hard to do & would be a bit easier if, esp Mozzer songs, were extended to top 15... so that's what I did :D. Not sure I've tried to narrow it down before and it gave me something to do while I had an hour to kill today. *Thanks Stephane for the 'print out' of songs* :)

My favorite Moz songs currently are from the latest album, which i think is brilliant. I'm a new forum member here, and while always aware of Moz i've only really become a fan (as in someone who will go out and buy the cd's) recently. I am in my early 40's and was more into hard rock and blues back in the days when the Smiths were around, andi considered them to be new wave, something i was dead against in my "rocker" days. But as i've grown older my tastes have changed and i've grown a new appreciation for them. Then a few weeks ago i saw Morrissey doing a cut from his new album on the Jimmy Kimmel show and it was great, so i decided it was time to look into him again, and before you know it i had downloaded his full discopraphy, and then got into the live bootlegs, i'm now up to about 6gb of bootlegs and have been listening to them non stop for weeks. It's kinda fun getting to discover him in reverse, listening to the newest stuff, then working my way backward through all of his earlier albums. I have to say prefer Morrissey's solo work to the stuff he did with the Smiths, and think he does their songs live now better than they sounded on their own live albums and boots back in the day. I can't believe the treasure trove that exists of him in live boots. There's a lot more available of him (and in great quality) than there is of many other artists.

Anyway here are my current favs:

Morrissey
1 - Mama Lay Softly On The Riverbed
2 - The World Is Full Of Crashing Bores
3 - That's How People Grow Up
4 - Something Is Squeezing My Skull
5 - Why Don't You Find Out For Yourself
6 - Trouble Loves Me
7 - You Have Killed Me
8 - Black Cloud
9 - First Of The Gang To Die
10- That's Entertainment (his cover of the song by The Jam which he did live on early tours, in particular the 01/06/1991 version from Costa Mesa which is available as a soundboard bootleg)

The Smiths (prefer the live versions by Morrissey solo)
1 - Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want
2 - There Is a Light That Never Goes Out
3 - Panic
4 - Girlfriend In a Coma
5 - Bigmouth Strikes Again
6 - This Charming Man
7 - The Boy With The Thorn In His Side
8 - Shakespear's Sister
9 - Frankly, Mr Shankly
10-Shoplifters of The World Unite

I left out 'How Soon Is Now'. I realize it's a Smiths classic and was one of their best known songs, but i absolutely hate it because here in North America it is more known in the last 10 years as being the theme song to the cheesy tv show "Charmed" which starred Shannen Doherty and Alyssa Milano. I hate it when they allow classic songs to be ruined by television shows.
