All I got was images of Jimbo Jones of The Simspons from his response, and obviously he doesn't understand the concept of a studio album, er Rank doh doh doh!

OK so you lot are a bit tired of top 10 threads.

I'm still thinking of mine, A.K.

Maybe we should have a Top 10 of the Top 10 threads?

The token "essential" hip hop album listed in every white boy's top ten list to give them more "street cred." My dick wants to laugh at this sad cliche.

Nice choice of Elliott Smith.. He is/was a genius. Heartflet and poignant.. I've seen him a few times before he fell off the drugs wagon.. Lot of it about nowadays, and yet it's still unfashionably glamourised. Anyway, 'Junk Bond Trader by Elliott Smith and Miss misery are two of my favourites songs..

I went on a Beatles trip recently.. so, after I've pondered my own list, i can endorse those choices!

I'm going to limit myself to one album by each The Smiths and Morrissey. If I didn't, there'd hardly be room for anything else.

1) The Smiths - Singles (It would be the most perfect album imaginable if it had "Stop Me" on it.)
2) The Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream (My first love along with Mellon Collie.)
3) Blur - The Best Of
4) Morrissey - Suedehead: The Best Of
5) Belle & Sebastian - The Boy With The Arab Strap
6) The Clash - The Story Of The Clash (It would have been London Calling except I love "Rock the Casbah" -- the first punk song I ever heard as a little Mormon girl -- so much I had to name an album that includes it.)
7) New Order -- Substance
Trainspotting soundtrack (Vaguely embarrassing, but it introduced me to Pulp and some other artists I still very much enjoy. It was also my first taste of "Temptation" by New Order and you all know how much I love that song.)
9) The Stone Roses - The Complete Stone Roses
10) My flavor of the month: The Darkness - Permission To Land because it's damn good fun!

Re: Top 10 favourite albums

Subject to change at any time.. for longevity and variety.. and some songs that would be part of the soundtrack of my life..

1. World Won't Listen - Smiths (has a bit of variety thereon, great sleeve)
2. Lexicon Of Love - ABC (have a soft spot for this, dig the lyrics)
3. Neither Washington Nor Moscow - Redskins (walk like the Ramones, sing like the Supremes)
4. Vauxhall & I - Morrissey - (consistent and rewarding)
5. Physical Graffiti - Led zeppelin (has a lot of the best Zep moments)
6. Doolittle - Pixies (hardly a duff track.. rightly hailed)
7. Roxy Music Greatest Hits - Roxy Music (My first album!)
8. Fall&Rise of Ziggy Stardust - david Bowie (could be 1 of 3 from this era)
9. Forever Changes - Love (60's encapsulated in the best ways)
10. Machine Gun Etiquette - Damned (where punk met Heavy Rock so gloriously)
11. Revolver or Rubber Soul - Beatles (who can say!)
