Tirade against the NME on Morrissey Official FB by Peter Katsis

Appears to come from Peter Katsis. Appallingly written mess of a statement.

Text here:

"The N.M.E. used to represent the underground.

Now they are becoming known as The Guardian of rock music.

They had to stop printing copies.

Not because no one buys magazines.

Print publications like Q Magazine and Kerrang! still exist, because they remember who they are.

But not N.M.E.

They forgot who they were.

And because they just aren’t cool anymore.

N.M.E. are also just full of shit.

And can’t even afford good writers to work for them.

They like to remind readers of all the past allegations of the year, despite their lack of any basis in fact, despite that they are just re-hashing stories over and over, old news, fake news, etc.

But they leave out their own old issues, of lawsuits lost, and legal battles that forced them to apologize to M in the past.

And they lie more than Donald Trump.

-N.M.E. asked no one from M’s camp for comment to their recent story.

-Haslam was never a Moz fan. He was a publicity hound who had a new book coming that no one cared about.

-We didn’t cancel our summer shows because of Haslam’s weak event, the protest that drew no people.

-Moz in not a racist.

None of M’s latino fans care about UK politics, but hell…..why not call them up and try and find a story where one doesn’t exist?

Not like they have anything real to write about……like music.

Because they don’t even know what music is anymore.

Basically all this points to the fact that writer(?) Bob Chiarito and his editors at N.M.E. have been relegated to meaninglessness.

Not really even worth writing about for this Facebook post.

We stand up for ourselves here, not because we give a shit anymore what these folks say…..

…..but to point out to the fans and music industry of the UK that they’ve changed their title.

Now N.M.E. stands for …….Now Mostly Excrement.

No longer of any value to the music community…. they have decided to be the TMZ of music news.

Good riddance. - PK"

No, it doesn't sound familiar - you're reciting the Tory tabloid version of the white working class. Most people I know either don't have kids or have one, two at very most because of a lack of money and the future looking bleak for them. People want their kids to either have a better upbringing than they had or at least of equal quality. Thay say they would like to have kids (or more kids) but things are too f***ed up nowadays. The system has engineered this atmosphere.

Migrants on the other hand are experiencing the promised land in relation to where they came from, so they are pumping out children by the dozen. Crack dealers next door, gangs everywhere, two local boys stabbed dead last week? - compared to the third world that's no biggie. These people are grateful and therefor easier to exploit. To pay low wages to, to make work longer hours in crap conditions, to generally live in a country that has gone to the dogs, AND to never rebel against the system because they feel the system has been great to them.

This is white working class replacement. Emotional manipualtion about the plight of asylum seekers is an elite governed sham. Yes, the third world exists and it's not nice, that's all. We can't solve poverty in the third world by bringing them all over here - and the elite know that.

The elite don't do altruism. Everything they do is about lining their own pockets at the expense of humans who they think can be moved about like pawns on a chess board.

Again, I don't necessarily disagree with much of what you say. I see a lot of Marx and socialism in your words. The difference is, as well as blaming the elite, you also blame the migrant, the asylum seeker, the refugee. If you hate the fact that the powerful exploit migrants, then don't blame the exploited, but unite with them, fight with them in solidarity against those that wish to trample on them. Take some responsibility and work against those who wish to sow discord, fear and hatred in our society and blame the easy target, the "other".

I agree with you that more nuance is needed - it isn't as easy as just getting a job. But, I think comparing Surface to Thatcher and Tebbit is unfair. Thatcher and Tebbit were saying that at a time when there was around 3 million unemployed and the Tories were dismantling the coal and steel industries without giving working class communities the opportunities they needed to survive. They were telling people to get on their bike for a job, but there literally weren't any jobs going.

I know there aren't necessarily loads of great jobs out there in the UK, particularly for those without qualifications, but there are still vast numbers of opportunities these days, particularly for younger people, even those from more deprived areas, even with the Tories making life harder for poorer communities. As I said, I've taught in secondary schools in some of the most deprived parts of Rochdale, Heywood being one of the worst, and taught at Oldham College, Oldham being THE most deprived town in England. As hard as life can be for vulnerable, working class young people, particularly wity the government not supporting them and many of them coming from unsupportive families, there are opportunities there for them, but it just takes hard work and determination.

I think if you're always telling the working class that it's someone else's or telling yourself it's someone else's fault, you're doing a disservice. We need to learn to be determined and take responsibility for ourselves and our own success, because my experience has taught me that the Tories won't do it and neither will many parts of society.

I agree with a lot of that. But Lots of opportunities for young people has more than a whiff of government propaganda to it though.

Also was it you that said: 'the state of the 3rd world is all our fault'? (meaning Western governments, banks etc)? If so I would in a lot of ways agree with that, but I feel the state of the white working class in Britain today (and it's not good) has been engineered.

Correct and it looks like the reduction in economic migrants is having a negative effect on our economy.

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...inances-billions-global-futures-a8448261.html

No doubt it will damage our economy. The agricultural sector in particular will be hard hit by Brexit, by both the loss of economic migrants who are happy to work a difficult job on their farm and the loss of EU subsidies which keep many farms afloat.

Then there's the many other economic sectors which rely on economic migrants to keep them ticking over, as well as swathes of our public services.

Combine this with the fact that we are one of the least productive countries in Europe (the average German worker could clock off on Thursday and still do more work than the average UK worker could by Friday) and we're going to see the UK economy downturn.

It isn't the whiff of government propaganda, it's the reality I have experienced firsthand, whether it's in my personal life, the lives of my friends and family or the lives of the young people I have taught and supported throughout my career in education in working class towns. Whether you wish to believe that is up to you, but it doesn't make it any less true.

And yes, I do believe that the state of the third world is the West's fault, just like the plight of the working class is the fault of western governments. That only serves to reaffirm my view that we should be siding with migrants, asylum seekers and refugees, as they often experience the same, if not worse, plight than many parts of the UK working class.

You left out the bits where many asylum seekers languish in detention centres, get the basic rights allowed them by the Human Rights Act, and if they are eventually granted asylum (often only temporary) they will receive a pittance in money and often live in houses that are close to destitute.
Listen, I live in London. I've got eyes. I see housing going up and I see the people who the housing associations move there. This is what councils have been denying for years - the fact that foreigners get more 'points' to qualify for social housing. They just do - everyone else is told to go packing. Can't afford to rent privately in London? Goodbye, the designated white flight zones are that way.

But of course you won't read that in the Guardian etc. You won't get Loach doing a film about it either as it isn't a cuddly subject. Migrants in detention centres make up only a minority of the migrants living here. Stop reading bullshit propaganda stats and use your eyes and the sense I know you've got.

In a country with a housing shortage? A buckling NHS? In an overpopulated city like London with an overcrowded creaking transport system. The working class suffer the most. They literally live alongside the new cultures and have to compete for the same jobs and services whereas the m. class never do.

There is massive hypocrisy in this subject. And it usually ends in the old cliche of one side haughtily calling the other racist.

I think your formal education has somewhat conditioned you to think like them. Our bosses, our rulers. our betters.

Areas of London where you won't see a black face: Crouch End, Chiswick, Richmond, Wimbledon, parts of Hackney. These are the areas where the liberal left media live in their £3-5 million houses. You know, people like Caitlin Moran for example, always banging on about diversity and inclusion - but not on my doorstep thankyou very much.

If tomorrow mass house-building was announced for 3rd world migrants in the Cotswolds and other desirable parts of the Home Counties where all the media have their outside-London family residences, the reaction would be interesting.

There is no doubt that just because one is seeking asylum that asylum should be granted. There is a screening process in place defined by international law. An economic immigrant and an asylum seeker are two different things.

And I don’t think that many would look to Israel as guidance on human rights issues.
You're naive. Britain's borders are virtually open for anyone and have been for two decades now since Blair threw the floodgates open wide at the behest of Barbara Roche, immigration minister at the time. The infrastructure for 'screening and selecting' is government propaganda - basically it doesn't exist - certainly not in any real workable form. Stop believing and start questioning.

I reckon you will see black faces in all those areas as Surgeons, Business Leaders, Sportsmen and women etc come from all backgrounds and tend to live in nice places

Actually I don't blame the migrant. I even said earlier if I lived in Africa I'd be like a rabid dog trying to get on that NGO boat to Britain. That's human nature, who wouldn't? But I find it insulting when our betters roll out the emotional manipulation with sob story headlines etc. Remember the "house a Syrian migrant" campaign? (And by the way, he'll definitely be male and of fighting age) Can't you see through that?

What I'm saying is that the powers at work know the results of pouring migrants into an area. They know that the British way of life can only exist in an area when the dominant parent culture is British. When it becomes subsumed they know the result. And they want the result, because it destabilizes and weakens society while increasing their own grip. Though of course they play naive .

I believe what they're doing is on purpose. And it's to do with exploitation and eradicating the white working class and every last bit of pride they possess... but I've mentioned all that earlier.

The migrants are their sharpened tools, the working class the victims.

And another thing, there's no use trying to unite with migrants to fight the system - they love the system, it's been great to them!

I remember the N.M.E. (New Musical Express) it used to be more like a newspaper format rather than a magazine. It started back in 1952! I think that it was more jazz orientated back then. This was just before rock 'n' roll started which was around 1955/1956. I think that the N.M.E. has got more pop orientated in recent years. I guess fashions and trends change in music throughout the years.

I think that there was a newspaper called the "Daily Express" maybe there still is?

I used to buy a music magazine called "Mojo" I don't know if it is still going. Good to know that "Q" and "Kerrang!" are still going.

It's sad that "Melody Maker" is no longer going.

I used to by a magazine called "Select" which was about music. "The Face" had stuff about music in it as well I used to buy that sometimes.

There was also a magazine called "Uncut" which was good about music that I used to buy.

You can also get music magazines about musical instruments like guitar magazines if say for instance that you are interested in learning to play the guitar.

I remember that there was a magazine called "Mixmag" which was about dance music.

Morrissey is spot on about the N.M.E. because they have written so much untrue rubbish about him over the years! The N.M.E. is as bad as "The Guardian" newspaper in that respect.
