TheNeedleDrop reviews The Queen Is Dead

Since The Queen Is Dead is one of my favorite albums and I
listened to it so many times, awhile back I decided to listen to
the songs in reverse order, as a fresh way of hearin' it.
It was kinda fun to do.
The fade in intro of Some Girls... definitely starts the album off
different and then to go into There Is A Light... as the second
song works well to.
Havin' I Know It's Over and Never Had... at the end kinda works
nice, because of how slow the are.
The only part that really didn't work was Mr. Shankly after I Know
It's Over, cause it kinda flipped the mood to much.
After listenin' to the album so many times and bein' used to anticipatin'
what was comin' next, it really did give it a fresh listen.

That's a really interesting thing to do. Do you think it would work positively with any other Smiths/Morrissey album? Would V&I be better with Speedway as the opener and NMHIF as the closing track?

I want to hate this dude but he's just doing his thing and he does it well.

I just don't understand the point of talking about music in such an intellectual, detached, objective way. You either like it or you don't. It either registers with you or it doesn't. It's totally subjective.

Guess what made me think of doin' it with The Queen Is Dead,
was wonderin' how it would sound with that fade in intro of
Some Girls... startin' things off.
Yeah, ya could do it with a lot of albums.
Especially since it's so easy to do now-a-days, with the playlists.
I'm gonna try the Vauxhall one.

It’s not so different from a written review, except maybe watching the reviewer speak about it adds a weird dimension, not in a good way. Though, if it gets younger generations turned onto it? that’s cool.
As far as YouTube phenomena go, what I find stranger are those reaction videos.

But if the person who introduced me to The Smiths for the first time described them to me as ‘jangle pop’? I probably, would have said thanks, but I’ll pass.

It did seem odd that no actual music was included, but the uninterrupted review is compact in its own way.

This guys got a nice hustle for himself, doin' the reviews,
but it would be a bummer to have to listen to all that music
and think of how he's gonna criticize it.
He musta criticized enough music by now, that it's time to
make his own music and see how good he does.

I find this guy insufferable
Yeah I know right, don’t know what it is…If I had to guess it would be the poor sense of humour that intrudes into all of his videos - not that I’ve laboured to watch many of them. Moz would like him at least, pretty sure he’s vegan.

It reminds me of this scene:
